Oh wow this is big.

First, Pats games will bring more ratings because the headlines sound so good : "Who will beat this team?" or "Will they go undefeated?"

Second, they want Patriots to lose because making this game a primetime gives more motivation to the Bills. Remember how well they played against the Cows just because it was a Monday nite game, they were really pumped for it!

I would assume the following weeks game, 11/25 vs. Philly will be changed to a day game. I can't see 2 NBC games in a row.

Begs questioning why they did this and not the pitt game ? The league saw the dallas-buff game and thought it would be a tougher challenge for the pats .Seems like they want the pats to lose as early as possible. Unless this is just an nbc thing.

I agree with most of you that the Pittsburgh game should definitely be flexed.NE vs Buffalo is a complete mismatch.

As a Patriots fan who does not live in the New England area it is a bit of luck for me. Now I can actually watch one of their games, as opposed to just seeing the highlights on Sportscenter.

As a Patriots fan who does not live in the New England area it is a bit of luck for me. Now I can actually watch one of their games, as opposed to just seeing the highlights on Sportscenter.

Are you familiar with Sopcast? It's a lifesaver for displaced fans like us.

Hey I'm not 100% sure on this but I think there is some restriction at how often a team can play nationally on primetime, I think its 6 times, and only 3 teams can have 6 appearances, the rest can only have up to 5.

With the current schedule Pittsburgh has 5.

I know Dallas has 6 primetime games, and the Patriots with that announcement now has 6. So that leaves 1 more team to have 6 and the others with a maximum of 5.

If they had picked the Steelers/Pats game instead of the Buffalo game, that would put both the Steelers and Patriots at 6 games, and Dallas already has 6, therefore taking up all three spots (DAL, PIT, NE) for the 6 primetime appearances.
