I think part of it had to do with the fact that the Colts were playing in the nickle the whole game due to their linebacker injuries. He was in coverage a lot because of this and wasn't involved with the running game near as much as he normally would be.
Don't follow your logic. The ball was all over the field yesterday. As others have noted, he was late to the party on most plays. He makes poor reads a lot. Check the Moss TD...he was lining up Welker (already covered) for a hit instead of helping out (Bethea?) against Moss.
He is a lot like Ray-Ray...runs all over the field looking to make plays. That is fine, but it leaves your teammates exposed. I don't necessarily blame him since I don't know what Dungy asks him to do. He is not a complete player yet, but his highlight plays overwhelm that perception.
