I think part of it had to do with the fact that the Colts were playing in the nickle the whole game due to their linebacker injuries. He was in coverage a lot because of this and wasn't involved with the running game near as much as he normally would be.

Don't follow your logic. The ball was all over the field yesterday. As others have noted, he was late to the party on most plays. He makes poor reads a lot. Check the Moss TD...he was lining up Welker (already covered) for a hit instead of helping out (Bethea?) against Moss.

He is a lot like Ray-Ray...runs all over the field looking to make plays. That is fine, but it leaves your teammates exposed. I don't necessarily blame him since I don't know what Dungy asks him to do. He is not a complete player yet, but his highlight plays overwhelm that perception.

Psst, here's a hint: The Colts run defense didn't start getting better because Bob Sanders came back from injury last year, it's because the Colts starting having their interior defensive linemen hold on every play. Go watch the tape, you'll see that they're always grabbing the interior offensive linemen around their shoulders by the jersey, and twisting them away from the play. When you see an offensive lineman's shoulder dip while he's playing inside, he's being held. But never would the oh-so-great Colts get called for it.

That, and the fact that he is a lability in coverage.

Watch what you say here, AquaWorkhorse4Ever. Next March when Sanders walks you will be telling us he wasn't all that good anyway, and will be repeating everything we are now pointing out to you, and lying about what you said about Sanders when he was a Colt.

But then, I guess you can always amplify your voice so the truth cannot be heard. Seems to be the practice in Hoosierville.

As I counted he made one play, stopping Maroney in short yardage when he was unblocked, called upon to blitz between 2 defenders that were occupying players.
Other than that, he did nothing.

He's like the 21st-century Paul Orndorff.

Sanders is, imo, the best run support safety in the league; he's one of the best blitzing safeties in the league (behind Rodney of course); but he is so easily manipulated by QBs in the passing game. He bites on more play-actions, and is influenced by more pump fakes than any MVP OF THE LEAGUE should ever be.

Obviously I'd still love him to be a Patriot though.

He is THE KING of hitting players when they're already down. I'm surprised as to why he doesn't get flagged more often for late hits. He did it to Moss on the 55-yarder and hurt his shoulder.

DeOssie was talking about Sanders last night. Said Sanders was overrated and didn't deserve the praise.

Bob Sanders is pretty much a lock to exercise the option to void the rest of his contract after this year. Someone will pay big money for the hype.

Sanders was rather quiet.

Antoine Bethea is underrated, though. Not a huge S, but he tackles well, has great range and seems to always be around the play. For a small-college player in only his second season, he has quickly become a pretty good player.

I'd like the Pats to look at him if/when he reaches FA.
