Slow offensive adjustments

1. This offense goes as Wes Welker goes.

2. The offensive playcalling was conservative at the beginning. and when they did Brady forced it. Brady didn't look like Brady, he looked a bit dazed.

3. I think the offense overestimated the ability of the front 5 to pass protect without help. Never went to max protect in the first half.

It wasn't until the Pats went to Faulk and a tight end in the backfield helping the tackles did Brady have enough time to throw.

4. First half.... too much running on first down without much of a purpose. I thought they were doing it to wear down the pass rush, but was sabotaged when passing when brady had no time.

5. First half, there was no hurry up to wear down the pass rush.

wow. Offense goes as OL goes. If OL can give us time, our offense is unstoppable. Welker does not dictate how well we play especially if we dont have the time to execute.

Brady wasnt dazed..its just very tough to make throws when you dont get enough time and your forced into less room

The running is what ultimately won us the game. We did wear down the Colts D. You saw and heard about Mathis and Freeney having hands at their hips, getting taken out quiet often. They were tired.

They're called slow offensive adjustments. things in the second half they should have done earlier in the second half.

The running did not win the game. it was getting back to Welker and it was giving help in protection to BRady to let him throw to Stallworth, Moss, or Welker.

is it any coincidence once welker got involved again that the offense started moving the ball?

look at the cincy and cleveland games, he only had 3 then 4 catches. the cleveland game was capped off by a randall gay td. not exactly the way the offense was taking off in the apst couple weeks.

welker open up everything underneath and moves the chains. i'd love to see how many first down he makes. of course many times the pats have gotten away with minimum pass protection but my whole point is they didn't adjust quick enough to this and had too many short dead drives. it wasn't how many times they ran, it was when.... on first down too many times.

I completely disagree. The Patriots should have established the running game with Maroney in the Patriots first offensive series and then throw off play action to freeze the Colts linebackers as well as an over aggressive Bob Sanders.

I thought McDaniels was too slow to adjust to the Colts scheme. He should have figured it out by halftime but it took until the 4th quarter to get the offense in gear.

They needed more short drops, quick slants and screens to combat that pass rush. They didn't actually try these things until the 2nd half.

I agree with the idea that McDaniels was slow on changing things up. I thought the hurry-up at the end was something they should have started the 2nd half with.

The Colts controlled the tempo of this game from the start. They were doing everything they could to slow down the game.

The offensive line does dictate how well the offense is going to do. Kaczor looked bad in the first half until they got him help.

The thing is the Colts were at home with a huge chip on their shoulder but this Offense showed up when the game was on the line. This is the toughest test they will have all season.
