We the fans, would like to make a special announcement to the professional sports media:

"We the fans of all professional sports as a result of the relentless misinformation & speculative reporting, find it necessary to inform all national & local sports media people that you are not important to us. You do not have a fan base and, we do NOT see you as celebrities.

From this day forward, we encourage all writers and reporters...to write & report the FACTS. After all, that is your responsibility and it's you job! Just remember, the only thing we the fans really care about is our teams & our players...not you!"

We now return you to Gameday!

This just in, an unnamed source has just informed me that Gregg Easterbrook, a reporter for ESPN, will resign from his post due to the backlash of the ESPN Ombudsman. Mr Easterbrooks has expressed he deeply regrets that his reporting on the Patriots was based purely upon his personal feelings for Bill Belichick.

In other news, sources say Peter King will make a public apology to Bill Belichick, the New England Patriots and their fans sometime this week. Speculation is that King's decision was heavily influenced by the announcement of Gregg Easterbrooks resignation which is based upon pure speculation.

More later.

This is funny stuff.

I'd like to say that one thing that makes me sick is the double standard they continue to show for these teams.

Werder is already lining up the excuses by saying that the Colts could be at a big disadvantage w/o Harrison & Ugoh 100% healthy. No kidding.

Yet, I have not heard one mention of the depleted defense the Colts staged the 'greatest comeback' ever against. Or the fact that Seymour was hanging on until off-season surgery. Or Maroney was banged up.

You're right and it is sickening. I'd love to see some other members write some stories...based upon speculation, rumors and secret inside information of course! ;)

It has been rumored that ESPN has just swithed the Patriots to the "Good Guys". After weeks of being reported as the "Evil" guys in the "Good vs. Evil" storyline, a last minute change has been decided. Today's game will now have the Colts as the Evil guys and the Patriots as the good guys.

Inside information has it that President Bush found it unacceptable to call any Patriot, Evil and used his influence to have the roles reversed. ESPN regrets the nature of this eleventh hour decision.

The Patriots front office unfortunately has not been able to convince Bill Belichick to replace his evil hoodie ;)

luckily for basketball, they have great analysts. Unfourtunately for us football fans, we have to listen to these idiots every sunday. Majority of NFL Countdown just picked colts defense over the pats lmao

It's really getting out of hand. It's a shame, too. They're missing the better story.

And whatever they think about Belichick, how can you not be a fan of guys like Bruschi, Brady, etc. I mean, in terms of likeability, our players -- the guys that we pay to watch -- are off the charts.

Bottom line is that they had us in a certain box. We were the team that could convert Troy Brown in a defensive back and still win championships. Now we're not in that box anymore. And there was a vacuum that they filled with garbage.

I think it's all part of the natural evolution of the media and public opinion cycle of great teams. Eventually all great teams become hated & old news opposing fans get tired of seeing & hearing about.

Everyone's waiting for the next great story & team.
