Dear Pats Fans,

First I want to congratulate you guys on your perfect season thus far. Brady and everyone else have been truely impressive. I never thought I see the day that someone would even come close to Peyton's record but at this pace it looks like Brady will shatter it. This Sunday's game will be truely special for fans on both sides. After last years thriller, what better way to go at it again...this time both sides undefeated. What we are seeing here is a true rivalry that continues to gain strength as both teams continue to get better. A rivarly of this magnitude is not suppose to happen anymore. Salary cap issues almost don't permit this. It is funny because it has seemed like both sides have been able to capitalize from the cap instead of getting harmed by it. Both sides have great front offices and great coaching that allows the teams to maintain. The Colts and Pats continue to do what they do best...win ball games. Although it is difficult for me to say anything good about good old Billy Belichick, but he needs to be recognized as one of the best NFL head coaches ever. As a diehard Colts fan it is easy to correlate the Patriots excellence with the whole spygate issue. As I see it that is just a scapegoat. Sure what he was doing was wrong, but there is no doubt in my mind that the Patriots would still have three rings even if that was never going on. I guess the intent of my post is for all you Pats fans to know that there is a tremendous amount of respect from the Colts fans here in Indy. I am proud to be a Colts fan and I am even more proud that this whole Colts/Patriots mayhem ...is mayhem. The hype is great. How excited are all of you for this game. Sure its just regular season but the implications are endless. I will be at the Dome this Sunday and I am truely honored that I will witness the best fued in football unfold in front of my eyes. Good Luck Pats Fans. It is almost time for battle.

Good post theses rivalries are what makes watching sports special. If either team just plowed through the opposition on its way to the SB it would be kind of boring after a while. This makes the games more exciting, theres more anticipation, more sitting on the edge of your seat eyes glued to the tv. So heres to a great game with no injuries. :rocker:

The truth is that both teams and both coaches would have eventually been successful in terms of winning a SB but the only reason this rivalry has gone to it's present heights is because both were lucky enough to get elite QBs on their teams ...nothing more.

You know whats interesting...If the Pats didn't play the Colts, we could've had a scenario where both teams ended 16-0; which would've really made the AFC championship game something extra special.

Unfortunately, since these two teams must meet, the Colts will have to settle for a 15-1 season...The first 15-1 team in history to play the conference championship game on the road.

Nice post bro. As much as I dislike the Colts, they are a great team. The Colts have one of the two best QB's in the game along with Tom Brady. Both will easily make it to the Hall of Fame. Tommorow's game should be a good one. Let's hope their are no injuries and our teams meet again.

Just to add my own 2 cents.... Yes, Colts/Pats is an intense rivalry, but it doesn't come close to some of the rivalries of yesteryear. Because of the day and age we live in - that's just not possible.

Look, I love the Patriots, but sports, as we all know, is a business.

When I hear Maroney is phoning Addai to find out about tickets, or Brady text messaging Manning each week, I think back to my earliest remembrances and try to imagine Jack Lambert calling up Ted Hendricks or Lyle Alzado. Those players truly HATED each other. Guys spent their whole careers on one team back then - it was the norm, unlike today.

Rivalries will never be what they once were - and you only have to look at our new WR's to realize that.

Nice post, and I DO think a lot of us realize the significance of this great Pats-Colts rivalry, but we're too much in the moment to consider it very often. When Brady and Manning have retired and BB is NFL commissioner, then we'll all look back and reflect on how lucky we were.

Tomorrow a great team will lose, yet the fans of that team will be luckier than fans of the other 30 teams.

We are all following Champions and a Champion is only as good as who he has to defeat to become Champion.

The Colts are reigning NFL champions, but beating the Bears was just a formality, beating the Pats was the real Superbowl and everyone knows it. THAT is also the reason that tomorrow's game may be the biggest regular season game ever played. Ask Colts fans who they were more thrilled about beating, the Bears or the Pats. I think we ALL know the answer to that one.

Likewise, beating the Colts to get to the Superbowl was tougher than either the Eagles or Panthers with all due respect to those teams.

This decade in the NFL will find the Pats and Colts joined at the hip, and the ability to reminisce as a fan of one of these teams will be something fans of other teams will truly envious us for.

Sports are still competitive, no matter what. Guys may no longer feel the anger and spite toward one another as they used to. But it doesn't take pure, individual, blinding rage for teams to feel that competitive animosity. Especially two top teams that are gunning and jockying for position atop the NFL, year in and year out.

I do agree however, and I wouldn't call it the most heated rivalry in history. But it is deffinitly up there.

Sorry ColtsFan528, but it's not going to be close. This game has been blown up in the media because that's what they do in order to increase ratings. The truth of the matter is that 2007 belongs to the Pats, hands down. Any remaining non-believers will be dealt a harsh dose of reality come Sunday afternoon. I am a die-hard Chargers fan, however, I'm also a reasonable person and I call it like I see it.

I appreciate your enthusiasm and offering up a classy post on a rival team's board. All I can say is best of luck to both teams, have a great game and injury free.
