Colts' Harrison may have knee pain for rest of career

THis can't be right. Yesterday St Dungy the Good listed Harrison as not playing due to a Team Decision, meaning he did not have an injury but was kept out of practice for reasont not related to any injury.

Are ....are ... are you saying a saint is playing mind games?

Well, I never! What do you think this is, the NFL?

I hope he repents.

I know what his penance is: A trouncing.

We knew it had to be more than just a bruise. Not good news for us. From the description of your injury - reallllly not good news for us.

It's always a shame to hear something like that, hope it's not true. At least Harrison has had a long and fabulously successful career (and can sleep on soft, thick piles of money).

But yes, Spacecrime, that "team decision" is looking more and more outrageous.

Paging Commissioner Godell ! Paging Commissioner Godell !

what! Jets Commissioner Godell just
left the buidling?
by the back door
?

.

Can somebody name me any 35-year old NFLer who *doesn't* have pains in their knees?!! Sure, his might be a little worse, but come on! It's a miracle he's still playing at his age. It's the roughest sport in the world, with the shortest career span. He should be grateful he could play for as long as he has. If it hurts too much, then hang 'em up and enjoy retirement.

The Colts may not have received that report, but they are not denying that it is out there to Marvin.

If it is true, it's very saddening and puts everything in its proper perspective when you realize how much these athletes have to live with as they go on with their lives after football.

Best wishes are with Marvin - - he's a truly great athlete.

Yeah this is why I never fault guys like Barber for wanting to leave while they still feel healthy. I would not want to live with some of the pain these guys endure.

You seriously think it's a toss-up as to whether Harrison or Morris is more important to their respective offense? Our back-up RB to their HOF WR?

Not in an ordinary situation but Marvin Harrsion has NOT played like the HOF receiver that he was. He has been a consumate professional for so very long. But in the business, he is an OLD receiver at 35, and now may never have his wheels, ever again.

And from the medical post may never do so again. OTOH, Morris was playing well above the level of a backup RB, when hurt. He was the the regular RB producing starting RB like numbers. So in this case its a wash.

The colts awesoem offensive machinge is wearing out. Harrsion may be nomore than an average receiver if he can paly at all.James is withthe Cards. Stokely is gone to the (?) Seahawks? Gonzalez is good but a raw rookie. Clark is a great addition but...

He may the pro bowl last year and was showing no signs of wearing down until the injury. If he is healthy, there is simply no comparison between his value to the Colts and bu RB for the Pats. Unless Maroney is that fragile.

Somehow, we're going to get blamed for cheating for this.

actually he played a lot of last season with various injuries and, from the colts games I saw, stuck mostly to the sideline routes where he could take the quick out before any contact. Still made some AMAZING catches (one in Foxboro comes to mind) but even a few Indy fans where starting to question how much longer he had in him. they where quickly beat down by the "marvin is immortal" crowd though :bricks:

Is it just me, or is there no medical information here and a lot of conclusion jumping?

Yes, but those were minor. The wrist was a bit of a problem though. I don't recall a change in his routes. He mostly played outside the hash, but still ran his customary slants and skinny posts. I thought he played the same last year as always. It's just that the Colts ran more and Peyton got Clark involved much more. You must realize as well that Marvin always has a safety over the top. That being said, age might be catching up with Marvin now as he has never taken this long to heal from any injury before.

Believe me, we Colt fans are just as confused. How do you say someone has been cleared to play, then go on to say he might not play? We'll just have to wait until Sunday.

Quite a few of these players are going to have pain for a long time, a lot of people have knees replaced when they get older (my aunt's had both).

Seems to me, I'd wait or the report of the actual injury, or watch how he's running and make up my own mind.

Rumors are bad enough, when you add a bunch of amateur MDs, you get a farce.

I think we all think we can beat you full strength and want to see your best.

I'm sure it entails what further damage he might do and how effective he will be.

Lots of players play with pain.

I do hope it's just a pain issue. If it is, I think he'll suck it up and play.

The Colts did make a statement that they had no medical reports to substantiate the claim made by the media (ESPN?) on the "permanence" of this injury.

Marvin Harrison is a great player and a Hall of Famer. I certainly wish him well and whatever the medical staff decides, I hope it's in the best interest of his long term health.

I wonder if this is what the mod meant when he talked about personal insults? And if you followed the things I've said - one was "you have to play who you have".
Besides, what in that quote could have been considered trolling?
