I just heard this in the nfl network.
He's healthy, he's been working out. With Morris out, we will surely need him.

Hope he come back.

Yes, this is from Adam Schefter. He claims Dillon is now receptive to returning to the NFL, but only for a playoff team, and he did say Corey has been training.

All I know is....sign him up! The Patriots can use the hammer, even if it's just for his ability to run it in on goal to go situations.

Not sure if he burned any bridges on his way out but this is a perfect scenario for both sides if he's really in OK shape.

I think this is just what Belichick planned. :D
We could use a Corey Dillon right now
But is he in game shape?
I would love to see CD come back.

Under the present situation, I would love to have Dillon back here. Wouldn't need to ask too much of him right now.

Besides, from what I remember of his speed last year, he could run 60 seconds off of the clock on one play....just getting back to the line...

Slow....but still would be solid.....not going to happen though. It will be Eckel and Evans with more carries I think.

His number is still available after they cut Tory James.

Would his return have any effect on the cap since he already has a cap charge.

I'd love to have Corey back. I loved that guy when he was with us.

Yeah. His cap charge is in the Dead Money category, and is only for signing bonus. There is no salary cap charge for him this year, so whatever we pay him will be in addition to his current cap charge.

Probably Corey would finish out the year for us for about $500K
Plus offseason bonuses...IMO

One thing to think about, the entire blocking scheme was changed over the offseason. Also, the Patriots have been going so well lately. I seriously doubt they mess with the mojo. Corey did a lot of great things in New England. On the other hand, I saw Brady yelling at him a couple times.

I'm 90% certain the Patriots don't bring him back.

As long as he's in football conditions and doesnt hit the cap much. As for his speed, I'm talking about '04 speed or a bit slower but not like last year. He's still a force when running though.

Dillon is maybe my favorite Patriot since he's been here.

Nevertheless, this smells like total BS to me.

I feel the BS too, but I'm always optimisic:D

But feel wierd having Moss and Dillon in the locker room together. I never anticipate that.

Wasn't he pretty tight with Vinateri?

This is probably nothing more than Schefter seeing Morris going to IR, calling up Dillon and asking him if he'd be interested if the Pats called and Dillon saying "sure". Pure specualtion. Nothing from the Pats end that they are interested in him. I highly doubt him coming back.

For all those fortunate enough to have attended games at Gillette all I ask is give me another 1/2 a season of one of the funnest chants ever...........

COREEEE, COREEEE, COREEEE

One more run with Clock killin Corey Dillon would be awesome.

Corey....Corey....Corey....

I would love to have the corey of 04 back and I would settle for a happy 70%Corey...But he would have to know his role and be happy with it.

Dude is a beast and could be a great change of pace.

for now....things that make you go hhmmmm

hmmmm....interesting to say the least. I wonder if the locker room could handle Moss and Dillon together? If it was doable i would roll the dice.
