Why Eli Should Cheer Against His Brother...

I know this is a bit of a stretch, but the New York Giants should be paying very close attention to the game this weekend. Now, I think we're going to win by at least 10 points, but on the outside chance that the Pats lose, we'll have more incentive to beat the Giants in week 17 considering the fact that the Colts will probably lose to somebody else this season.

By winning this game, the Pats could ease a little bit off of the gas at the end of the season. I don't see a 15-0 Pats team being willing to lose their last game, but you never know what's going on in BB's mind. He's one of the most unpredictable men alive.

Therefore, if I were Eli Manning, I would be cheering for the Pats this weekend.

Lol that is exactly what I told a friend of mine who is a huge Giants fan. He agreed and said he will route for the Pats! haha one fan a time!!

Yes, but he's been known to play starters a little bit in late games that mean nothing. Besides, if the pats clinch HFA early, and they're rested for one or two weeks, plus the bye week that will come with being a top seed, then that's a few weeks of the starters doing nothing. what if they come back in the first game and play dead? I would rather them keep their fire and play, then cool off in the playoffs and lose.

At first I was going to say this was a ridiculous thought, but this is a good point.

I was just kidding, but I think there's always at least a little bit of that dynamic between brothers.

From everything I've read and seen they look like they have a great relationship.

Seriously-it's common sense-your goal is to win the Super Bowl, and nothing else.

Two reasons you could be wrong:

1. A perfect season IS a major accomplishment (to put it mildly).
2. By trying for a perfect season BB could have a tool to keep the players continually focused, if he thinks the benefits of that outweigh the risk of burning them out. (Which they well might, since if you achieve a bye week that gives you a few days off anyway.)

I don't think he will this year, the way he keeps the starters in when the game is so far out of reach, and I have no problem with this at all for the record, I think he wants to play everybody to the bitter end, if I was a Pats fan I would be scared to death of injuries, but then again he might rest his starters when HFA is clinched...

When I read that I immediately thought of the end of the Giants/Colts game: They were standing together and Peyton was proud of how well Eli played (even though the Giants lost) he was glowing. Eli, on the other hand, looked completely subdued..., like he the only thing in the world he wanted to do was get the F*** away from Peyton. It's probably been that way his whole life. Don't get me wrong, I have great respect for the both of them.
