I don't understand why i am supposed to believe that he is a good guy.

Why is he a good guy?

I'll even throw out all the stuff that makes him look like a jerk.
there.
its gone.
now explain.

Why is he such a great guy? Just because he's religious?
A lot of people are religious.

It's generally the overly religious you have to worry about...

But good point. I haven't ever heard anything that would suggest that he is a better person than BB or anyone. All I have ever heard is that he is nice to the media, he is religious, he tries to have a good image (IMAGE, not his actual personality), and his players like him. REALLY!!! His players like him!! WOW. What a great guy. His players love him. Well, didn't Belichecks players love him so much they embraced him after the spygate crap?

I know religious people, like the Muslim Fundamental Terrorists, or that church in the south that pickets at dead American Soldiers burials saying that god is striking down the gays, etc. Sounds like nice people, huh.

You should read his book, seriously. I think a lot of opinions on this board would sincerely be changed if people even took the time to read even a few chapters of his book

i'm waiting for answers.

All i hear about is how fantastic this guy is. it should be incredibly easy to tell me why he's such a good guy.

so let's hear it.

That he wrote...

As tragic of an event as it was, people seem to forget that his son (who took his own life) clearly was not brought up well. He was obsessed with guns, violence, black supremacy, etc. Whatver reason for this, I don't know, but after Dungy went through this ordeal I think he has been respected more.

Right after you all read 'The Education of a Coach'.

nobody should have to suffer through that.

But that doesn't tell me why he's such a good person.
A lot of people have terrible things happen to them and move on to live successful lives.

But why is he such a good person?

Keegs we honestly don't know. Maybe he is a secret child molester. Odds of that being the case aren't high though IMO.

From, someone who went went to highschool school with James, and had a couple of classes with him before he passed away, please don't make uninformed comments on something you obviously know nothing about

Once a kid (or I should say adult) goes away to college, especially with their parents so far away (Indiana/Florida) that kid is officially on their own. They make their own decisions and their own choices. From what I knew of him he was a bit of a class clown, always making jokes, but he was always smiling and always upbeat

people wonder why I have been on here today defending Dungy so hard, but when I see the several moronic, hateful, and just ignorant comments about the death of someone I knew, and just plain DUMB rationalizations about a situation many people know NOTHING about just pisses me off. Your parents can raise you however they want but a decision to end one's life definitely does not mean he wasn't brought up well. Dungy has 5 other children alive and doing well, but I don't even know why I continue too argue with posters who show they have no idea what they're talking about before they complete their first sentence. Thats before even mentioning how big of a fan of the colts I am

You don't know what the person was going through to make them take their own lives, you probably couldn't imagine, so playing Dr Phil and making stupid comments like it must be the parenting is just plain DUMB. IDIOTIC even

Millions of people believe in good family values. That's not good enough for him to be receiving the credit he gets. Thanks though.

So anybody else have anything?

I sort of think he was taking a dig at Dungy here ... you know, that he's such a good guy that he will tell other people who live a lifestyle that he doesn't condone what they can and cannot do.

I believe the word for that is didactic.

you should have no problem answering my question if you know so much.

Please tell me why i am supposed to believe that Tony Dungy is a great person.

Why is this crap being allowed on the football forum?

Media blitz?
Is that the answer you've been waiting for?

Dungy is Dungy and BB is BB. The media can choose to portray them however they wish. Not much we can do about that.

Given that, I'll take BB any day.

I gave you a pretty concrete answer, read his book and you can make your own conclusions, it's a pretty open and honest story of a journey through his life and many of the events have taken place.

Nobody has to prove to you Dungys a good person. His walk and attitude have proved that over and over again, and the fact that some people will dig so hard to find anything to use against him proves this as well

Ok so your answer is nothing?

After reading my posts do you honestly think im going to open that guy's book? are you kidding me? (and yes, i know that you know that)

you read it, so you tell me why. There has to be a good reason for him to be getting all this credit.

You mean the one called Quiet Strength. I think I heard him talking about it on the radio. No maybe it was on tv. No I think it was at a book signing.

Spare me with his BS. He is all about portraying an image.
