We talk about Harrison and Wayne and Clark which are the big threats but is anyone worrying about a guy BB and the team has never seen play against us,rookie WR Anthony Gonzalez?

Is the Gonzalez kid a guy to worry about catching passes out of the slot like Welker does or do you think he is not ready for a good showing against the Pats D?

If the defense looks past this kid, Peyton will find him for big gains,I hope we can contain the youngster as well as slow down the star receivers we all have seen before.

in BB's words "We prepare for every player on the roster"

He's just another #3 WR right now. Doesn't deserve any more or less attention than anyone else playing that spot. He's certainly not targeted even close to what Welker is.

He has potential, but at this point that's all it is. I get the feeling Peyton doesn't have much confidence in him, because it seems he doesn't even look his way at times. He had one good game, TB, but that's been about it.

Primarily, the Colts will go with two TEs and occasionally slot out Clark.

This is his breakout game. Tough to prepare for something you haven't seen.

I know you are a little far from home but let me fill you in. The pats are adept at using this little thing called "videotape". You didn't hear about that?

OK - let me spell it out for you. He hasn't played that much. There is virtually no tape on him. Get it?

LMAO. Gonzalez won't do anything different than the guy he's replacing, whether that's Harrison or Stokely from years past. You actually think we need to specifically prepare for Gonzalez as opposed to his position ? We have MORE than enough film on him for any personal oddities he may bring.

Aquiring Welker didn't do anything either did it

Well, it completely changed our offense from largely 2 TE/2 WR to 1 TE/ 3 WR. The Colts haven't changed their offense in year. When they play 3 WR (or 2 if Harrison is out), the offense is the same whoever is playing the position. Gonzalez isn't nearly good enough to require anything more than normal preparation. Man, you are clueless.

preparing for gonzales is like preparing for brandon stokely when he was with the colts.. slot receiver, same skill set... but not yet on stokely's level of play, still young...

I've seen every Colts game this year, Gonzalez hasn't done much. A couple impressive moments but not consistent at all.

Preparation for Gonzalez:

BB: GAY!
Gay: Yes, coach?
BB: You'll be covering Gonzalez this week
Gay: Yes, coach

Problem solved.

We do. You don't. I thought you were a Colts fan.

He's played a ton. There is plenty of tape on him. He played in every game this year, and started three. I don't know who many snaps he played, but starting 3 games it has to be more than a couple. He caught 14 passes, longest of which was 24 yards.

14 receptions isn't bad. Clark has 32, Wayne 44 and Harrison 20.

Anyway, he's a rookie, and more likely to hit the rookie wall than break out. If you're counting on Gonzalez to be the difference in the game, it's going to be a long afternoon for you.

Don't tell me you are comparing Gonzalez to Welker. Don't you get to watch any games in Iraq? You obviously have the internet.

.........no

I remember before the draft...there was whispers Pats might draft Gonzalez....and I was totally against it. I think he might end up being a good receiver....but a big reach as a 1st rounder. Good corners shut him down in college...and when Ginn was hurt, he didn't do anything. From what I have seen....he and Manning are clearly not on the same page.

I don't worry about him at all. He is simply not that good

I agree with you. He has speed ,but sometimes he is lost in his routs. Also he is not that consistent yet, comapring to Stokley. On the other hand I wouldn't overlook him, nor Fletcher, what the heck - even Utecht...
But I truly hope the one person who could change the outcome of the game is... Addai. If he can keep Pats D attention a whole game, Colts have much better chance to win.....
