LOL Just watched the Brady press conference. Best part was:

"I hope it's a blowout, actually. Although probably nobody else would like that."

Hahahaha Go Tom! :D

Oy! I find it funny and I get it, but this is going to blow up and put in the wrong context right away.

Good, Brady can even guarantee a win if he wants to.

Pats 45
Colts 17

Brady > Manning

It will. People will take just the one sentence, "I hope it's a blowout, actually" and run with that. They'll put that in the context of running up the score and off we go.

And maybe I'm a perv, but I'm really looking forward to it. I'm enjoying this season like no other.

Buckle yer seatbelts everyone.

I agree, I hope it is a blowout too! I would really love them to cram this game down the Colts throat! Actually, it would be even better if they were ahead by 30 points and still kept running up the score. I know that is doubtful, but we can dream, right? :p

I don't know, the words are pretty tame, no? He HOPES it's a blowout.

Yeah, no duh. That's what every athlete hopes for. But that's far from predicting one or saying it's going to happen.

Yeah and that's how he intended it. But because of all the surrounding talk, it'll be an issue. Maybe it won't. Maybe nobody will notice. But the press seems to be looking for ANYTHING to continue building this story.

I like the "16-2" comment, very clever, but I still say

It sounds like an adolescent---but mommy, everybody does it!

NOT every one cheats. One still wonders about the past---because the
character of the organization was destroyed. It makes no difference what happens Sunday, people now question EVERYTHING the Pats do and have accomplished. Maybe there IS tarnish on those rings...ours shines bright..

I would rather have one the shines and a whole box full that are tinged....

UGH!!! - Annoying Colts fans...can't wait for the Pats to spank them.

I actually took it as sarcasm from him because everyone is *****ing about them. I can't ever remember him saying anything at all to incite people, this just seems to me as sarcasm at it's finest.

Agreed, but it will be a physical battle on Sunday, no doubt.

Oh absolutely, it's perfectly innocent -- but so was the "I play when I want to play" line from Moss, in context. I have a sneaking suspicion that Brady's sentence will never be taken in context again. Sigh.

What was the context anyways??
I know that I'm hoping for a blowout myself! :D

Brady knows it's going to be a blowout. Look at our players and match them up against their's. Honestly, you think there are 11 players on this Earth that are going to stop Tom Brady from avenging the AFC title game? This scenario was scripted long before Moss, Welker, Stallworth and Spygate.

if Dungy, Polian, Irsay, or Manning had said that, this whole board would be burning down right now

Cousin,
I would believe easily from the comment that a close game or a nail biter on either side is a tense environment and if enough points are scored, the pressure is off if the score indicates such. But as TB knows, unless you have a blowout, Manning can bring them back. Simple, easy and logical answer by TB. Any close score and either side can take the momentum.
I am sure Manning hopes for a blowout on his side as well.

You are absolutely correct, we'd be laughing our heads off. The thing is, I do understand why Tom said it, it was just to piss on the media. And honestly, I don't believe anybody on the Colts (save Polian) would say that, nor would Tom in a disrespectful manner.

quite possibly

but they didn't

Indy can win this game, but I don't think they will

Yes,

But that is only because they are the God-like good creatures and we wouldn't expect
such attitude from the choir boys. Now from the Evil Empire, Hate-At-All-Cost
crowd, you'll just have to accept it.
