The Colts are raffling off 5 of them.

If you could own a Patriots ring, would you? I don't think I would.

Their value is basically sentimental - representing all the blood sweat and tears the organization put into it. You did nothing to earn it, why would you want it?

I'd feel like a schmuck trying to resell it.

They're too gaudy to actually wear, and too ugly to give to a significant other.

I'm just not sure what anyone would do with one.

If you wear one free drinks and dinners for life

Honestly? Yeah i would. I sure as hell wouldn't wear it in public though, knowing i didn't earn it.

I think that if I had one that I would just keep it with my autograped footballs. Though I do like the free drinks idea.

Look at this Bozo

Five lucky Colts fans will leave the RCA Dome on Dec. 2 with authentic Super Bowl rings to conclude a fund-raising program announced Tuesday by owner Jim Irsay to an enthusiastic crowd on Monument Circle.

I'd want a ring as a collectible, sure. I think it is a nice gesture by the Colts to give fans an opportunity to win one.

They are trying to raise $1 million dollars for charity in the process, so it's cool all around.

The Sox did a similar thing in '04 with 5 of their rings.

Would I want one ? Not really, I didn't earn it.... I have my picture with me wearing the SB36 ring, that's good enough for me.

It's a cool idea. I'd love to own one. Well, a Pats one.

Agreed, nothing at all wrong with the idea. But I agree with the OP that it would just be another collectible to me. I'd rather have an autographed jersey and take cash instead of diamonds!

Yeah, why not. It'd be a real cool addition to a memorabilia collection that is definitely in the exclusive category. Would I buy one? No. But as a charity fundraiser auction or something like that I'd drop some on a ticket for a good cause.

But...but...but I thought diamonds were a girl's best friend? :)

I'd love one, you'd look like a right d!ck wearing it though unless you actualy earned one. I'd put it on display in a little case or something.

That photo is the closest Irsay will get to multiple Super Bowl rings.

ya, i think it is a good thing they are trying to do in Indy. I would buy a $5 ticket if the Pats did it.

I REEEEALLLY want a Colts ring, and I think I might throw in five bucks for the hope of getting one. Think of what would happen if the Colts found out that they gave one of their Super Bowl rings away to a Pats fan who plans on doing what that one fan did with Barry Bonds' home run ball. They would be petrified!

So maybe I would want a Pats ring so much, but I think I'd give a body part for a Colts ring.
