Could you define "We", Stattry?

I just looked up your posting history, and it's obvious that you are not a "We".

Keep it informative and on-topic and you are most welcome to remain as a guest. But cut out the "we ought to stop trying to defend the Patriots by....." crap.

Hee hee, I just did the same thing....those sly little Colts fans, they're so cute.

..............especially when they get their pants pulled down like that.

Where is anyone defending the Pats in this thread? Are you saying it isn't news when people video-tape defensive signals? Have you been living under a rock the past two months?

The initial post is that we ought to be talking about Mudd stealing signals too..

The clear implication of that statement is "The Colts are breaking the rules too, so what's so bad about the Pats doing it?"

Don't insult everyone's intelligence by pretending its not.

Don't insult everyone's intelligence by pretending to be a Pats fan. What shall we discuss? Tony and Peyton are what is right about football?

As the OP, I can say you're troll assumption is wrong. It's wrong for anyone and EVERYone to break rules.

The intent was to expose the blatant hypocracy of YOUR Head Coach and his Holier Than Thou comments after Cameragate.

Exactly what I'm talking about.

Both of your sentences above are not true.

"It's okay to do something against the rules because we think the Colts did it in the past (or maybe still do it-who knows?)"

"It's okay to run up the score because the Colts did it in the past"
What? No one is saying that it is not against the rules. They are pointing out what a hypocritic Dungy is. He not only took a shot at the Pats for video-taping, but says he is glad no one on his team would do that. Whoops. Liar lair. People are simply saying that Mudd and others did the same thing and somehow you and others are fine with that. We are merely pointing out hypocrisy.

Also, no one said it's okay to run up the score because the Colts did. Go bad and read the thread. It's okay to score because the object of the offense is to score points. The entire week before the game is devoted to finding any weakness in the other team's defense and exploit it. The object of the defense is to stop the other team's offense from scoring. What don't you understand about that?

What people are saying is that there is a double standard. Other teams have out-scored opponents by a ton and were called dominant. The Patriots are called classless.

People here are pointing out how hypocritical it is to disparage one team and laud other teams for doing the same thing. People are laughing at Steve young for criticizing the Pats for their 52-7 victory, when ten years ago he beat the Rams 55-10.

We ought to stop trying to defend the Pats by disparaging the Colts. It's a big trend around here, but it's some kind of weird logical non-starter.

Thank you. I have yet to bring up the whole signals scandal on this board because, frankly, there's too much good football talk to be had about two great teams playing some historic football.

Don't understand why anyone, pats fans especially, would continue to dwell on it.

Wow! Good of you to agree with this "Patriots fan". He sounds like the only voice of reason to you, doesn;t he?"

BTW, we WILL dwell as much on Howard Mudd as we like, kapische? We've been bombarded with the Spygate shyte for 8 weeks now from 31 other fanbases, while your SANCTIMONIOUS organization surreptitiously cranks up the volume on the story.

So keep your advice on this story in-house.

Mudd has never been accused of taping signals. He has been called the best at stealing signals by several around the league. But according to the the way things came down after the Jets/Pats camera game, it's not illegal to steal signals, it's only illegal to video tape the signals. I know people here will say, "but he is still stealing" and "this is a double standard" but it's states in the rules that you can't use a mechanical device.

So he has a photographic memory? Please.

You're missing the clear point. JJ said Howard Mudd was the one that taught him how to use video and steal.

If he does, that's probably why he is so good. I don't know why it's so hard to believe someone could be good at something. Just look at baseball and how good some people are at stealing those signs, they are much more complicated.

and he looks like that actor from Goodfellas who owned the wig/hairpiece business..

If he said video tape, please show me where and I will stand corrected. I have seen where Johnson and others have said how good Mudd is at stealing signs, but never have I seen one mention of him video taping it.

Shut up...

Shut up...

Evidently he did, once he was exposed for trying to use "We". Disingenuous. Just like the organization for which he roots.

He wasn't whom he was trying to portray himself as there. And the Colts are cut from the same cloth.

I respect them as a great football team, but they are the A-Rods of the NFL. Phony to the core.

If the video from the Fox show is still out there, I'll try and find it. I'm being totally serious with you, JJ said he remembers Mudd showing him how to do it back in his KC days and he never found it very helpful.

Edit found a good link

Anyone see Stattry lately? Or did he try on another costume?

Nothing we are talking about is illegal. That being said, even video taping the signals isn't against the rules. The rule that was broken was the placement of the camera, not the actual use of one.
