...this weekend. One of the winnable games remaining on SF's sked. In Atlanta. Here's hoping the Falcons can keep it going, smack down Alex Smith and Frank Gore, and keep that #1 pick valuable enough that we can deal it for an additional one as an additional FU to the NFL.

Atlanta's pretty crappy, it's a bit of a longshot. I'm guessing the 49ers put it together and get back in the W column. Thoughts?

The 49er won't "put it together" but they could win. That said, Football Outsiders ranks Atlanta 28 and SF 32 (yes, last) and it's in Atlanta.

This starts a run of 4 out of 5 on the road for SF :D

How do you know they are going to deal a high pick? Its been 7 years since they brought in Big Sey. About time for another blue chipper.

Ahem......Warren and Wilfork seem to be blue chippers to me...and at a better price.

While I would never say never....I don't think the Pats would stay in the top 5 if they could trade down and grab another pick, unless there was some monster there that they had to have, and I don't think there is one this year.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if they ended up trading spots specifically with Atlanta wanting to move up to take the Louiville QB Braun (sp). That would be a high pick somewhere in the top 10 still and probably a 2nd rounder or future #1 to boot.

Yeah...next year's draft will be fun.

That's ludicrous. Even I rank the Dolphins 32nd in my power ranks.

Dolphins??

what league do they play in?

SF might be the worst team in the league and I think they lose in Atlanta. Atlanta is definitely a mess but SF is worse and Atlanta wins at home.

SF barely won their first two games (4 pts margin, combined, over StL and Ari and some really good luck). SF has the 3 worst point differential in the league. They got blown out in the battle of 2-4 teams last week vs NO.

I think there is a very good chance that this will be a top 5 pick, and a reasonable chance it could be top 3. (Miami #1)

Well we could certainly talk about this for ever. One thing that is clear is that with the QBs on the board the pick is worth so much more for the team in need (ala Cleveland going for Quinn compared to what the Patriots got from SF) for comparable picks.

Dallas has two first round picks this year, theirs and the one from cleveland, so that would probably be a late first (where ours was originally) and a better pick in cleveland's. supposedly jerry jones likes darren mcfadden a lot, so I could see that as a possibility.

if we stay or get clevelands via dallas, Id like to see them pick laurinaitis if he comes out. hes fast and a great playmaker. if they stay put, I wonde rif they could take chris long and convert him to linebacker.
