I think I've seen and heard some comments regarding the Patriots new 'evil' image driving free agents away. But the fact is this, what offensive free agent wouldn't want to come here right now? And defensive for that matter. Who wouldn't want to play for a team that puts up insane offensive numbers? If Brady puts up 50+ TDs, what WR isn't going to want to be part of that? You just know WRs like Chad Johnson are sitting there saying, "Boy, I wish I had a piece of that action."

iam hoping just for fun BB declares that he is out of the pats contract and sees who else tries to sign him and then finally says he is back with the pats. Would be interesting to see how may teams rush up to sign him.

Are you sh!tting me??? I haven't yet, but not saying it hasn't been said because it wouldn't surprise me. What player at any position (O, D, ST) wouldn't want a chance at any aspect?

And who would not want to be one of those linebackers hunkered before the estimable coach, on the sidelines, plotting how to destroy an offense? Who would not want to learn from him?

You don't think the linebackers in this league don't envy Colvin and Vrabel and Bruschi and Seau and Thomas? The coming free agents all know some of these guys are retiring and they'll want to be take their place.

And the proof can be seen from Adailis' comments when he was signed.

Umm..what FA would rather be the player left complaining "They beat us too badly! They knew we didn't belong on the same field as them but they kept playing as if we were worthwhile competitors!"

All a free agent has to see is Randy Moss yukking it up on the sidelines, having the time of his life. I'm not concerned.

Hell, listening to Jason Taylor and Keyshawn Johnson talk about the Pats in recent weeks, it almost sounds like a veiled way of saying, "Hey, Mr. Belichick, I'm available later, call me!" Belichick is hated and feared by many in and around the league, but at the same time, he's a coach that his players will run through brick walls for.

Aikman was right when he said that in the 80's everyone wanted to be with the 49ers because of Eddie deBartolo. Now everyone wants to come to New England because the Kraft's are the class owners in the league right now. Plus of course, everyone's always happier when their team is winning!

I was looking for the handshake at the end of the Skins game. Fox missed it, but I did see BB looking around. Since he had already shaken hands with Gibbs, I'm wondering who he was looking for. Maybe a safety?

I think Belichicks chance at being 1st priority for the hall of fame took shot with the week 1 fiasco. I not saying he'll never get into canton, I just think it'll be a while before voters ease up on him. Belichick's no mercy approach is an insurance policy if you will, a way of ensuring he and his team are remembered no matter what the future has in store for them.don't think for the slightest of seconds that our coach doesn't care about this, he has a tremendous knowledge of football history and wants to be a part of it. going undefeated and systematically dismantling teams in devastating fashion would be his best way of leaving a permanent scar on the other franchises in this league.that,my friends will be something they will never forget.

Chad Johnson would love to play here I bet. I would bet a lot of money on Moss staying with us. He seems to love it here. I could see Stallworth leaving for a bigger payday but not Moss. Now put Moss and Johnson on the same team with Welker in the slot. That would be insane.

Moss may be happy with the Pats, but I don't see Chad Johnson and Randy Moss playing on the same team.

It's sad that the mediots are against Belichick. What did he do that was so terrible?

Win????

The evil image is a whole lot of fluff generated by a media that hates winners.

Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft, Tom Brady and everyone else involved with this organization has put together one of the most powerful juggernauts in NFL history...whether they run the table or win the Super Bowl or not, they have caused some of the brightest moments in their long history for us long-time Patriots fans over the past 8 games.

They are a terrific football team, and anyone who wants to doubt anything about this team and what makes it go simply suffers from Patriot envy.

GO PATRIOTS!!!!

The reason to play here = winning and rings. After many paydays thats all some players want.

I'm amazed to say it but I'd rather have TJ than Chad at this point. TJ doesn't seem to have a problem playing second fiddle and is a tremendous wideout. I don't think Chad would like playing second fiddle to Moss. And what's wrong with keeping Stallworth? Though if I had to choose between Moss and Stallworth, obviously I'm picking to keep Moss.

The only FAs who will say that they "wouldn't play here" are those know that they have NO SHOT to make our 53 man roster.

If it scares away losers and cry babies so be it. The Patriots have always fought against reputations of being cheap, BB being a jerk, etc., etc., etc.

Through it all they kept winning, winning and quality coaching matter (and so does money). Look at AD, Welker, Stallworth, Washington.

If anything the team is more attractive than ever because of the talented roster and potential championships.

I've been hearing free agents won't want to come here any more ever since we released Milloy.

Ain't happened yet.

But by all means, don't let that stop anybody from making up reasons we should be concerned.
