Thats a lie... obviously.

It's very important.

He said I'm telling the guys to enjoy them selfs and not to
worry if they lose.

Re: So Dungy says game this Sunday is not important.

not to be a di.ck but what is the actual quote? did he say something like "It's no more important than any other regular season game" or did he say "this game doesn't matter?" I think that's an important distinction and I'm pretty sure BB would say the same thing, that we want to win week in and week out no matter who the opponent is and this game is no different than any other in that regard.

Well I'll wait till they repeat it but its not a smart thing to say.
This game is obviously important for HF advantage.

He didn't say it doesn't matter just that its not that important.
I disagree.

Re: So Dungy says game this Sunday is not important.

I guess that's why he gave them two days off.

Cue the "the Pats have made this so important, they're going to be tight, whereas the colts will have the proper perspective and come out and just play their game" talk. Meanwhile, the laughable notion that the Pats "get tight" will give way to a Pats double-digit victory in THEIR house.

Re: So Dungy says game this Sunday is not important.

This is his exact quote.

"I think it will be fun, and it's good for the league," Dungy said. "But we want players to understand that it's not the end of the season, it won't put you in the playoffs and it doesn't guarantee you anything."

Re: So Dungy says game this Sunday is not important.

I can't believe that a guy that so many people say they respect around the NFL is already making excuses for if his team loses.

Let's be clear, Bill Belichick would never say something this stupid.

Actually his quote leans more towards winning saying, "it won't put you in the playoffs and it doesn't guarantee you anything." If he was making an excuse for losing, he would say that it won't knock you out of the playoffs. I think Belichick would say the samething. No need to try to spin everything that is said this week.

Nothing to see here...keep moving.

Re: So Dungy says game this Sunday is not important.

after the comments made by dungy over spygate, and by polian after the AFCCG last year, i hope its not just a win, i hope they run the score up

Re: So Dungy says game this Sunday is not important.

62-0 would be fine by me...

Sounds like he plans on winning. This quote means absolutely nothing except that Dungy probably thinks the same that BB does about this game IMHO.

Re: So Dungy says game this Sunday is not important.

The PATS have some payback to dish out....Can't wait for this game...

How in the world do you get this thread out of that quote?

Re: So Dungy says game this Sunday is not important.

I listened to the whole Dungy press conference ealier at work (don't ask). The guy is already whining to the REFS about this Sunday's game. It's just amazing how wimpy that organization really is. They need their bubble of a stadium, piped in noise, special rules for their receivers... and now Tony Dungy will be preemptively whining about Randy Moss pushing off on every pass thrown to him.

I forget the exact time in the PC where Dungy says this, but it's admist a slew of questions regarding Moss. Surprised there aren't 30+ threads on this by now.

How about the fact the winner will more than likely end up being the number one seed in the AFC?

Yea, but dungheap always talks like this. It is akin to passive agressive. He makes it a point to say that he is going to take a nap. His book is quiet strength - if its quiet, then stfu! Would bb ever say any of these things? No.

Dungy would probably say, "I am going to have some pudding." And he would say it just to make people take note that the coach is soooo calm and cool and laid back that he is just gonna have a nice sit down with some creamy pudding. But, it is all a smarmy ploy. I swear, if it weren't for Payton, there ain't no way for this dude.

He gets thumped a couple times, he goes to the pulpit to squeeze juice out of his association with payton.
