thats what this Patriot steamroller has been. Remember when that Bear team went down to Dallas and beat the Cowboys 44-0?

I agree with what i read from on another thread, I feel like the Patriots will make a statement this week in Indy. The always score points at the Dome and that was before they had these weapons. They have been waiting since the AFCC Game for this.

And every team in their path is fearing obliteration. And I for one love it! :rocker: :rocker:

The '85 Bears outscored their opponents by 258 points over the entire season. The Pats have outscored their opponents by 212 in half a season.....
You do the math...

This team is kind of like looking at the Bears in a reverse mirror.

Bears - Good offense and dominating defense
Pats - Dominating offense and good defense

Except BB made the sloppy 2nd half against the Fins serve as a wake up call

... and look how the team responded this week

That's why you're not going to see BB ever let his team ease up... that's a sure fire way to develop bad habits for a team

If the other team doesn't like it that's their problem -not ours.

And the "85 Bears" were just the "85 Bears" not a dynasty. Unless 1 great year and championship is a dynasty.

I'm glad you made this thread. All year long of I've been thinking about this Brady quote from last year when watching the Pats.

"We're not the '85 Bears right now"

This came after the Pats eked out an ugly win over the lions. This is truly the first team to come along that, because of a perfect storm of opportunity (Vets taking less to come here, Miami stupidity in trading Welker, Moss on the blacklist, AD and Stallworth availability etc.), is basically a pre-free agency type of team. I keep thinking, we'd probably beat the '85 Bears right now pretty handily.

The '85 Bears had the greatest single season of all time. They finished 18-1. They were the #1 ranked defense and the #2 ranked offense that year, and most impressively of all:

They allowed 3 points per game in the playoffs and Superbowl, including two shutouts and outscored their opponents in those games 91-10.

When you had the best season you are the measuring stick.

That's my point. One single season.

Tom Landry happened to get schooled for a former student(Mike Ditka) in that game.

Just imagine if Parcells was still roaming the sidelines(and not Wade) in that game.
