Can the Pats blow the Colts out?

If you take the history out of it and just look at this season, you would have to say that the Patriots are capable of blowing out the Colts.

The question is are the Colts capable of pulling the upset?

They are, but I doubt they do.

If we blow the Colts out then they might as well give the Lombardi to the Patriots and lets start the draft process early.

I am serious - even though its fantasy

This is the closest team we are going to get to the real Super Bowl opponent later on IF we make it

Have to watch out for them Steeler!! They have been playing much better this year

It is just a fact. They are blowing people away and dominating teams like no team has done.

Actually like the '85 Bears who steamrolled all but one team on thier way to Super Bowl XX......The Pats remind me of that Bears team that many crowned midway thru the season and they lived up to the hype.....

Why did the Pats decide to run the ball in for a TD with only 14 seconds left in the Dolphins game? Most teams would have just taken the knee. There is blowing away....and then there is stealing points at the expense of the other teams.

What does this have anything to do with this thread? Looks like we have a lost troll here.

The Pats do have a team capable of steamrolling the Colts. I see BB putting as many points on the board as possible. No mercy in this game.

NO!!!! They Colts wont say it now, but they will be playing mad. They will be looking to hurt the Pats WRs and Brady as well. It wont be a blowout either way, it will be close.

Not moving away from thread...was mentioning "blowing teams away"......just guestioning the importance of "blowing people away". I remember last year the Pat fans were giving the Colts 3 kinds of crap for "running the score up" but its all of a sudden ok for the Pats.... Points don't mean crap....wins do!!!

It's all on the O line. They have to play as well as they did against SD last year.

Really? First time I have heard of this.

Do you live on planet Earth?

I agree.

Boy, people really are getting pissy..... Just laying down some opinions.. my right to do so. Guess this thread is full of morons!!!

I respect that team too much to even think that at this point. The Colts were doing a lot of scoring in 2004, and we held them to 3 points. It's tough to measure the desire of a championship team. I know we hate Indy, but come on. They are a formidable opponent who has dominated in their own right this year. I think we'll win, but I think it's awful silly to talk of blowing them out. I would love it, but I see it as highly unlikely.

While you may respect the Colts team, I respect the Colts offense.

What's wrong with there defense this year? I think they are ranked 3rd in the league aren't they?

I've been giving the Colts credit all year. They're a great team, and Manning is a great quarterback. They keep replacing guys and somehow getting better. The draft well and have a great system. Polian is pathetic and Dungy hates gays, but they're great at their jobs.

That said I don't see why NE doesn't blow them out too. Maybe I'm just caught up in the dominance and can't see things clearly but I don't have a good reason to believe the Colts are going to be able to stop NE. They're best bet is to keep up with NE, but NE is uncharacteristically healthy on defense and a much better defensive team.

Of course, then I remember that the Colts have won the last three meetings and will be ready for the game. They won't be timid or awestruck. Like NE, they know what they want to do and do it.

I just can't get past what my eyes have seen this year. NE is this great. I think they're going to beat the Colts handily and it won't be an indictment of the Colts. NE will just prove themselves to be that good.

I too have great respect for the Colts. I have acquired many a gray hair watching them play the Pats.

At the beginning of this season, if someone had suggested that the Pats would blow-out their first eight opponents, I would have considered that not just silly, but purely delusional. Now with hindsight, suggesting that the Pats steamroll the Colts is really not silly. More like a distinct possibility. As yourself, I too would love to see it.

Maybe I'm just cautiously optimistic. I just want to win the game, man. I look at games against Miami, Washington before they start as "can we blow this team out?" games. I look at this game as a "what do we need to do to win" game. Indy has the horses (no pun intended) to keep up with us. They also have the motivation that we embraced for years- defending champ being disrespected playing at home against a glamorous team that is beating the living hell out of their opponents. That scares me.
