I don't think it will be close.

I think they can, but you never know. It's not like Peyton->Harrison can't score a few.

I agree. Pats will smoke the colts. I've been saying it for WEEKS - they'll hate their coach.

P.S. Is your name the Snarf that was in last week's South Park episode?

snarf oh no snarf snarf

No way we can blow them out in their house. I'll be glad to eek out a 1 point win. We haven't beaten them since the 2004 season (twice, one in reg., once in playoffs). I've almost forgotten what it feels like to beat them.

After 8 weeks, I remain unconvinced our D can slow their O down consistently. Harrison can be controlled, but I just don't see an answer for Clark and Wayne. Our O is vastly superior to the one that took the field last Jan. Hopefully that will be the difference.

Even with subpar defensive personnel we stopped them several times in the AFCCG. Problem was, our D got worn out (and injured) because we had so many three and outs on offense. If we stop them for a half and our offense performs like it has, we could light them up.

I have Pats 41, Indy 20 written on my board at work right now so we're thinking along the same lines. The Colts will move the ball fairly well, I'm giving them 2 TD and 2 FG but our defense is good enough to stop them a good number of times.

Are you seeing the pattern here? The NFL has never senea team like this. The Pats will blow them away.

Yeah, I have a lot of respect for the Colts. They're a REALLY GOOD team. However the Patriots have just had the best half season the NFL has ever seen - we're so close to it, it's easy to forget - we are a good bit better than the Colts this year.

I think we've seen evidence that we CAN with much worse teams. Not PROOF, mind you, as they did come back (both in '03 and last year), but we have been capable of dominating them. We'll have to see if we can put together a full 60 minutes.

Two major differences between last year's AFCCG Defense and this one coming in. Rodney Harrison and Adalius Thomas were two guys who weren't there and two guys that will not let Dallas Clark run wild down the middle of the field uncovered.

AT also allow Mike Vrabel the luxury of playing his best position which is LOLB allowing him to get to Peyton much like he did in yesterday's game against the Skins. IF you remember, Vrabel was forced to play inside during the AFCCG. Not any more, thanks to AT. Vrabel and Rosie off the edge will be tough on Peyton.

We want to take the TE's out of the game for the Colts, that's what they are going to try and exploit, they don't want to throw to the Asante's side of the field and that's what we want them to do.

That's the key, a full 60 minutes. We didn't do that in the AFC title game and there is no shortage of theories as to why that was. Still, I can't get the image of Dallas Clark running free over and over again out of my head. In other words, seeing is believing and I'll believe that we can control Wayne and Clark when I see it.

all it takes is a few stops on either side and it could be a blow out.

agreed...i see a similar colts score...maybe a little less for the pats...
but do we run it up on the colts?

Yep I think we can blow them out. It will be more of a shootout imo.
Pats 41-Colts 28

The Pats have to be real careful. Colts are a lot like the Pats. So many option receivers that you really can't focus on one guy. So to say that you we can put AT here or RH here.....It won't work. THE KEY IS TO PUT PRESSURE ON MANNING!!!!!! Anyone who knows anything about the Colts knows that when Peyton is pressured is the slightest, he looses sight of his recievers and has a hard time reestablishing his timing.

Same score as last year....38 to 34. This time Pats on top

Actually, pretty sure we sat Banta Cain, played Eric Alexander at ILB and started Vrabel at OLB. That just proves your point more though, the importance of Thomas.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised at anything with this game! A blowout either way, or a shootout. I just don't see a 3-0 score on this one.

The danger is going to be repeating what happened in January - scoring so fast on big plays, interceptions, or special teams returns that the defense is almost out on the field for two consecutive drives and gets worn down over the course of the game. If they're up by ten going into the 4th and defense sputters and dies, the Colts will win.

But the defense is a lot healthier now (Harrison and Seau will be playing) plus with ADT in the mix they'll be able to sub people in and out. I think the game will end up being something like 38 - 30. Both offenses will put up points, but seeing how the Pats defense seems to have gotten out of its funk they will help make some crucial plays.

It'll be up to the offense not to beat themselves or make poor decisions. With the protection Brady gets and the skill of the receivers they should be able to get the job done. Maroney seems to be getting healthy at the right time as well. I don't know what is up with Morris and Watson (still out next week?) but they've got enough weapons this time around.
