Why Extremeskins Posters Just Don't Get It

Completely ignored the lesson he/she was taught in the excellent analysis (or it flew over his/her head).

We've had a few good Skins fans who did know the NFL visit us over here, but 90% of what I saw at Extremeskins was Madden-Football mentality.

Now, on to Colts week for me.

No, Skins fans don't get it BECAUSE they don't get it.

Your life is fantasy football because your team has been somewhere between mediocre and pathetic for over ten years and what you (admittedly devoted and loyal fans) do to whittle away the time between losing seasons is brag about your great secondary or Clinton Portis in his goofy wig or whatever it takes to avoid the reality of being a mediocre organization.

When confronted with a truly great team, the first line of reasoning is "oh, we won't win but we really will show you we are great in the secondary and our defense might be the best in the league and our record is really almost like 6-0, all those other teams (like Dallas) you played were not the Redskins."

Then, after a straight forward game in which the Pats pulled Brady after the initial drive in the fourth quarter, the story is that we ran up the score.

The analysis was in depth and spot on. It criticized the Redskins for being a Rotisserie Football Team - - only concerned about the top 5-6 star players and not taking care of details.

The VERY FIRST RESPONSE to the analysis is someone claiming that it all comes down to having the better QB.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry for you that that irony completely flew over your head, but I will say that it is typical of Redskins fans.

The first poster makes an analysis about how the Patriots build an entire team and organization - - their strength is they have the best bottom 15 players - - not the best top 5-6 players. He goes on to show the difference is that the redskins can't even comprehend that thinking. He finishes it with, "What are your thoughts when comparing the franchises?"

The very first response post is "Henry": "That Brady is going to the HOF, and no Redskin QB of the past 30 years has."

Perhaps you don't get the obvious irony.

No I don't get it. If you're attempting to characterize Henry as some blind homer that doesn't understand why the Pats are so much better than the Skins i'd say you're way off base. Not saying there aren't plenty of fans with asinine remaks and posts that illustrate complete homerism and a false state of reality when it comes down to it. I just think you chose the wrong thread in attempting to make your point.

Here's further illustration of how annoying Redskins fans are.

There is an ESPN radio show down here called the Bram Weinstein show. ALL last week, it was talk of how the Redskins had a good chance. In fact, during an interview with Coach Gibbs, he and his broadcast partner (don't know the name) were all, "Joe, when it comes down to it, are the Pats REALLy that much better than the Skins? On a player by player basis? They're not that much better!" (Gibbs, to his credit, did not answer and was like, well, look at what they are doing, etc.)

Today? WAAAAAAAAAAAAH, they aren't CLASSY. Coach Joe would NEVER EVER do this. EVAH! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

It's so totally embarrassing if I were a Skins fan I would seriously want to leave the country so as not to follow football ever again.

You have earned a 'Sports Media Brainwashing' degree.

What's best about the Pats' formula is that despite it being spelled out right in their faces, opposing GMs and coaches, never mind their micro-cephalic fans, just don't get it.

Under seige from Polian's incessant whining, the league changed the rules to inhibit and devalue defenses. Yes, it took even BB a while to comprehend and adjust for this including the debacle of last year's receiving corps exacerbated by the unexpected refusal of a whiny wideout to honor his contract after he said he would do so right before the draft. Now BB has assembled an offensive juggernaught that takes advantage of the flag football 'Polian' rules and jams it down everyone's throats. But he's done so without diluting the power of a deep, strong 53 with a flexible PS and accessable shadow roster. Don't expect the Dan Snyders and mediot commentators to understand it. It's anathema to their behaviour.

It's just a shame that the Bengals have such a terrible QB, otherwise they'd be superbowl contenders...

It's also amazing that Brady was the best gunslinging amazing qb in the world in 2001, his first year.

Now to the great question, would Tom Brady be as good as he is today if he was drafted by, let's say, the Texans?
