Re: King :MMQB-colts/pats breakdown by 'experts'

I'm sure Carson Palmer was more than happy to talk about two teams he doesn't play for and two quarterbacks that he isn't. How much of this did King just make up, as he is wont to do?

The good news for those of you who didn't catch on is Peter is apparently finally past you-know-what gate.

Re: King :MMQB-colts/pats breakdown by 'experts'

I thought that was a good read. I'll be interested to see how the Colts CBs play the Pats. And as much as everyone knocks Collinsworth and King for the Spygate stuff, they sure do like this Pats team.

I do think he went overboard with the spy stuff, but I think it's because he has always been in such awe of the Pats. His crap about coffee and whining about the Sopranos is pretty gay, but he is a great sportswriter and everything he writes is with great insight. I severely doubt he would make stuff up. I undrestand the crap he gets from Pats fans, but he is one of the best writers in Football media. Easterbrook on the other hand...

In the last few weeks, there's been at least two incidents I remember where he said someone told him something and that person said that they never said that.

Apparently what you fail to realize is they did say it, they just didn't want him to repeat it. It's not that he makes stuff up, it's that he doesn't always present it in context or when they see how he's presented it they wish they had never talked to him to begin with.

uh? Care to provide some sort of backup? Otherwise, you are doing just what you said he did.....

iam not a journalist so iam not sure if its the person's who is giving the quotes to say "this is off the record" or the interviewer who is asking to ask if its on the record ? Just asking for my knowledge. Anyone know ?

I think he's alluding to Wade Phillips denying the "disrespecting the game" comment and Jason Taylor denying the "wanting to leave Miami after the season" comment.

I think Peter King has handled spygate terribly.

I think Peter King is genuine.

I think Peter King - outside of spygate - is the biggest Patriots ball-washer around.

I think Peter King RARELY has "great insight," certainly NOT "everything he writes."

I think Peter King is far from being "one of the best writers in Football media."

Yeah. But I'd guess that, like Molewisrocks said, they were backtracking. Still...

All I know is I enjoy reading what he puts out. If you know of a better national writer, let me know. Just please, for the love of god, don't say John Clayton.
