Seriously, What is Brady still doing in the game up 38 with a min left in the 3rd 1/4?

playing football.

IT'S THE 3rd QUARTER!!!!!!!!

My God. Every time the Patriots have a big lead, they're "running up the score".

YOU CANNOT RUN UP THE SCORE IN THE 3rd QUARTER!

We have knot performed our eff you TD yet!!

Because we're on a Patriots Vendetta tour this entire season. Deal with it.

Not asking to be a jerk. All it would take is some Redskin douche to lay a cheap shot as they have nothing to lose either near or long term.

You also have to realize that if these guys are taken out in the 3rd quarter of every single game, when the close games come - if they do - they'll need to play a full four quarters, and playing into the 4th Quarter is the only way to keep that wind up.

Yeah, agreed, the only thing to worry about now is a Brady injury.

My guess Belichick takes him out after this possession.

I have stopped wonderng how long Brady will be in a game for this season. Brady will be in as long BB wants him in.

People, it's simple. Tom needs 3 quarters a week. Is Bill supposed to sit him a quarter a week and make him rusty? Get a grip.

I agree...this is playing the delicate balancing between running up the score vs. just plain kicking your a*s. He leaves after this possession for sure.

you're whining. that could happen in the first quarter.

do you think this is preseason? it may look like it but it's not

I must be in the minority on this one. I think he was in too long. The game was way out of reach. There's a differense between making sure the game is out of reach and running up the score.

The Pats have been running up the score in a lot of games this year though...I mean, this was kind of par for the course. Last week I actually think they were worried about how the Fins were moving the ball, but this week and other weeks they have definitely been trying to run it up. I mean, Belichick is barely even trying to pretend otherwise.

It's pointless to worry about it, only because Belichick is clearly on a mission this year to just kill everybody. He's going to do whatever he wants to do. I don't care about running it up, the only thing that really concerns me is a Brady injury. Nothing to do but cross my fingers I guess.

When I originally posed this question I wasn't even concerned with or meant anything about running up the score. I was wondering about why leave Brady in and expose him to the Redskins Rappers and Rapers, who after a 38 point face in the dog ****e rubbing, might just do something stupid. It has happened before in the league. One poster said it could easily happen in the first quarter. I disagree. Washington hadn't been handed an in the octagon asskicking yet.

I think that posters here should vow never to criticize the colts for keeping Manning in the game to pad his stats and run up the score.

Here you go again.... Brady did nothing but finish a drive that had been started in the 3rd quarter. Crying because he wasn't pulled mid-drive is just pathetic.

AGREED.. and I never have or will. Your missing my point. I think its russian roullete to leave Manning or Brady in with big leads for the injury factor it poses versus the benefits it creates. Just wondered your take on it. Obviously, you think Brady is untouchable period. I ,for one, think Manning is one hit away by being left in to 'pad the score or stat' from being knocked out of a game at least or career ending injury at worst. I am not happy with the practice for that very reason. Coming here I have learned most Pats fans seem ok with it.

Personally, I would not have either Brady or Manning in with the score at 38-0. This was an opportunity to protect Brady and allow Cassell to have some playing time.

I don't think people are OK with it, because I think everyone lives in fear of a Brady injury. It's just that Belichick is going to keep on doing it no matter what, so I feel like it's pointless to worry about it too much.

I think it's fine for Brady to stay in there, because the way this team is going it's a blowout after the first half, and you can't take him out in the 3rd quarter. But I wish he would stop throwing it late, because that's where avoidable injuries could happen.
