Patriots Fan Image

After reading many, many posts over the past couple of weeks, I find it necessary to try to get some consensus among our members who are PATRIOTS FANS.

First of all, what is with those who keep B&M'ing about our "Image"? Image....who the hell cares about image? Not me! There are some who feel we should be MORE courteous to opposing fans who join OUR board. Well, I know we give one another a hard time and argue amongst ourselves everyday. I say we at BEST treat opposing guests the same courtesy.

Image is & means nothing. It is not real and it is phony. Haven't you ever met those people in your life or at your job who always seem to worry about their image?....biggest phonies I've ever met!

I visit many, many NFL team fan boards and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM treat opposing fans with skepticism and less tolerance than their fellow members. Why should we be any different?

Having said that, I do like having opposing fan join us as guests here. I like the clash and the turmiol that results. But lets stop this "Oh leave them alone", "don't hurt our image" boohoo crap.

As an after thought, I do believe the behavior and image of our fans who attend Patriots games at Gillette is important because those fans affect the image of the team and the enjoyment of those attending the games.

When we are at Gillette, we are guests of the Patriots and need to act accordingly.

Limit the opposing team's visitors to the visiting locker room. The Colt trolling is starting to get out of hand.

FWIW, no trolls are worse than Pats fans who frequent other teams' boards. I read a lot of these to see what other teams' fans are thinking and am embarrassed to read posts by so-called-Pats-fans. You don't deal in hyperbole much do you lol? I'm a Colts fan, of course, as I've said repeatedly in my many other posts.

And is anyone who disagrees with you guys a troll around here? Sorry, my opinions come from my experiences dealing with Pats fans, like those at the AFC Championship in Indy last year. I've never seen such rude, arrogant, obnoxious fans. I'm sure all you guys aren't like that, but you asked what other people thought, I didn't realize you guys were so into censoring around here.

This thread is not intended to rid our board of opposing fans. As a matter of fact, I said I like having them here. But let's not offer them any more tolerance that we offer each other.

Just remember, no one can be embaressed by someone elses deeds. So if someone makes a fool out of themselves, you can not feel embaressed by it. It may be some other issue you may have, but it's just not possible to be embaressed by the actions of someone else.

I only have time for this message board. Why should I visit another team's board to read their non-factual demented views?

Hey, Wizwor you're right. Sometimes I do get carried away, I have to admit I haven't forgotten what Pats fans were like last year, those guys came to my town and were talking trash not just about the Colts, but about anything and everything.

I work half a block from the Dome and that whole day last year it was just nonstop NE fans running their mouths, it really did make me think less of NE fans. The only thing I can compare it to was in the early 90's when I had Browns fans barking at me and throwing dog biscuits, and I was just a kid then!

Anyway, it's just a joke but there is a kernel of truth to it. I certainly don't go to any other teams forums, except the Colts, to talk smack.

But you guys wanting to censor or ban anyone for disagreeing with you are sad. It's just a joke, you don't like it, so you want it erased? I wish I could have done that when I was getting harassed by Pats fans while I was trying to do my job last year.

Are you just acting stupid, or is that naturally you? I stated in my opening, this is not to have anyone banned. Stop discussing that NOW! I"m just discussing our image with Patriots fans ONLY!

Listen closely AH...I've been banned from other boards for doing far less than what you have already done. If you really do visit other teams boards, then you KNOW FOR A FACT this board is one of the most difficult to be banned from.

I suggest you go to the Chargers site and tell them they are the rudest fans you've ever seen...you'll be banned in a second! Go ahead and get back to us.

Once again, this thread is specifically asking for the opinions of Patriots fans. So be gone and post your opinions on another thread...or even start your own thread for Non-Patriots fans!
