Re: Expecting a Upset
It has nothing to do with hate. It is completely objective.
You guys have a great passing game. We have a great pass defense. Sorry to break it to you but an upset here is very real.
The skins are not the best team in football, but they can play with the best teams in football.
The skins are dangerous.
No offense, you sound like a great football fan, but I smell blowout, and it's not them injuns doing the blowin' out.
You have a good pass defense and I expect them to take away the deep ball. That's fine with me. There are other aspects to a balanced passing attack that will become obvious. Don't forget, you have to spend to take away the deep ball. It's an expensive habit. This spending creates opportunity in the economy, and you will see how that opportunity is seized.
I don't think a good pass defense is the key to stopping the Pats. I think it's the front four. If you don't get good push up front then Brady has time. If Brady has time, then it's lights out, I know of no passing defense that can cover all afternoon. It's really not on them.
My curiosity is geared around seeing how much push your front four can get. Blitzing is usually futile, and quick death for the defense, so I think Joe knows that and I don't expect to see it. I really think the front four have to do what nobody else has done so far - put Brady on his arse and challenge him to get rid of the ball in a hurry.
Sure, he's good at that. That's how he made his three rings. But he's out of his normal rhythm for this year by playing that game. And if your guys do actuallly cover well, then he's got problems.
But that's it -that's the only way until I ever see differently. I just don't believe in coverage against this team.
Hey, good luck, go get 'em in the east. It's a great division. Beats the crap out of our division.
