Dolphins Taking Bids for Taylor and Thomas

I just laugh when people declare a player a bust when he's only played 7 games.

Actually, the Dolphin faithful declared Ginn a bust before he even put on a uniform.

Rather than laughing, you must have been hysterical at your fellow Aqua4Evers.

All the general uninformed fans, yes. I was skeptical until we drafted John Beck in the 2nd round then I immediately fell in love with our draft. (Then Samson Satele was the cherry on top.) We landed an anchor on the offensive line, a game changer in the return game and as a WR, and our QB of the future.

From lessons learned in the past in new england. Burner wideout, no muscle mass, struggles to run routes, can't and won't block AND played for THE Ohio State University=Terry Glenn 2.0

About Taylor fitting in here. You're not getting a 4-3 defensive end, you're getting a football player. There is no doubt in my mind how versitile Taylor has the potential to be. In passing situations, standing up or with a hand down, in running situations with his hand up or his hand down, I gurantee he can cover. Think about the problems he can cause with matchups. Players with rare physical abilities transcend schematic paradigms. He's a beast who I would love to see in a pats uni.

Umm, Terry Glenn was a pretty good WR.

FWIW, I don't think the Phins had a bad draft. Ginn looked decent even as the Pats were destroying his team....

Anyway, the Phins could raft perfectly for the next three years an still get their asses handed to them by 30 points twice a year by the Pats. :)

Taylor: welcome.
Thomas: I have a lot of respect for you, but you are done.

If they're smart, they hang up the phone if the Pats ever call. I would love to see Zach Thomas in his last years in this defense. No way they would be that stupid. Taylor, he's a beast but where do you play him? Only if he can play OLB, that is if your sitting Colvin or Vrabel. No way would you start him over Seymour or Warren. The guy has no place on this team. Zach Thomas may be short, but I have no doubt he would be a beast like Seau has been.

Jason Taylor could play OLB for the Pats, and I really don't understand anyone believing he couldn't. Think about the rotation that would give NE at OLB....pretty sick!

Give us a 1st for Taylor and a 2nd for Thomas and I'll be happy to let them play in NE for 1 season.

I'll remind you, Taylor is 33 years old, which means he won't be suiting up for his new team until he's 34.

If you think the Patriots (or any other intelligent contending franchise) would give up a first rounder for Taylor, especially if they'd only be getting a one year return......

For the record I think he'll earn the Dolphins a second rounder, if he's traded.

Oh, and a frequently concussed Zach Thomas won't garner a second rounder, either. This in no way means I don't think his level of play would equal that of a second rounder in 2008, but that's to high of a pick to invest in an old player, with history of concussions.

If you don't agree with this, just look at your Miami Dolphins not so distant acquisition...

I agree with you, dude. Just wishful thinking. :D

I'm saying if they went for that price to the Patriots, I wouldn't mind because seeing them in Pats uniforms would be really tough.

Not saying that it would happen, or that the Phins would be dumb enough to trade Taylor to the Pats, BUT, we all know that he and Brady are good friends, and that you could assume that he is more interested in winning a SB, than money.

Imagine this:

a 4-3 defense:

Taylor, Green/Wilfork, Warren, Seymour
Colvin, Thomas, Vrabel
Samuel, Harrison, Sanders, Hobbs

with Merriweather/Gay waiting for the dime package

not a bad looking D
