I havent seen much of a gameplan discussion this week. if so apologies in advance and please merge this thread there. So what is the game plan this week. i have just heard skins have no chance etc but what will the pats game plan be.
Skins offense has been conservative but Al saunders is a good coordinator so i expect him to come out aggressive and throw the ball a bit. Jason campbell seems to have a good deep ball throw. On defense i guess we have to stop portis first and hopefully make the young QB beat them and get off the field on 3rd down.
On offense i think will struggle a bit to move the ball early on. I think if our defense can get off the field relatively quickly and lets our offense get offense more snaps we should start to the move the ball. i think this week will be an interesting test because the skins have played a lot of coverage this yr and rarely blitzed . So will be curious to see if they do the same and how we handle it. London Fletcher and Gregg Williams know the pats quite well so that is another think to watch out for.
Thoughts ?

I personally think that Maroney is going to be huge in this game. I think the Skins are going to be so focused on our passing game that they kinda forget we can run the ball pretty good. Maroney will go for 100.

Patriots
1. Show up

Redskins
1. Have Patriots not show up

Offense - I think the Patriots will get into playoff mode, take the short stuff and underneath routes while mixing in the run. Take the occasional shot down field (I expect at least one 40+ yard TD).
Score - 14-20 in the first half, as Washington wears out running the ball will get easier and they will end up with about 35-40 points. No turnovers.

Defense - Play base 3-4, don't get stupid or cute with a 1 -4 -6 or moving guys around. Play solid fundamentals, contain Cooley and use Harrison as the 8th man in the box to slow the run. Make plays in front of them forcing Campbell to drive all the way down the field.
Total points 17-20

The game will be within reach (10-12 points) going into the third before the Pats just simply take the game over.

Other key - no injuries.

I think so too, its week 8 and so much teams that will play the pats either at home or away are concentrating on Brady's receivers and how to stop them. But Maroney, Faulk and Evans should be able to run the ball.

key: keep our WRs alive. dont lead them into trouble please.

I would like to see the offensive line really come out and dominate at the line of scrimage in the running game. However, with the skins lack of a pass rush I think this is going to be another pass heavy gameplan. Attack the middle of the field, their LB's are very productive stoping the run. Not sure how they are running in coverage.

Well, I think that is a problem for yall. It isn't as bad as Green Bay but the running game of the Pats is not all that great.

Furthermore, your defense is very suspect.

Now that said, you have to understand the nature of NFCE football. Smashmouth and physical play....

I know NE can play physical ball, but the skins are not a finesse, flashy club. The skins ram the ball down your throat.

My keys to the game is all about ball / clock control /// ToP /// turnovers.

Whoever wins those is going to win the day.

The run game will be dictated by the weather and I think it will be favorable for a breakout game. Get the safeties off the line with a couple early shots downfield, and take the training wheels off Maroney. Test the Skins DL and give Indy something to really think about and occupy PT with this week.

The Pats primary backs average about 4.6 yards a carry. Don't make dumb statements based off of what you see on SportsCenter highlights. We have a much better running game than Green Bay. Meanwhile the Skins primary backs average about 3.6 per carry, a full yard behind Maroney and Morris. Remind me again who's running game isn't all that great? Looks to me like it's yours.

yep. explains why our run game is 7th in league while Skins is 16th :\

O-Line and injuries.

okay so how are u ramming it down people's throats? clearly..we do more ramming than u do.

we've had injuries too. Neal was out for a few games..Maroney..Morris now.

I just think the fish exposed you a little. I mean come on.

2nd half we played nickel the whole time but thats no excuse for poor tackling.

were in position..we got them where we want em but we dont finish the play

The Pats have had injuries on the o-line, too, Neal and Koppen. Difference is our back-ups come in and do their job.

When the game was on the line in the first half against the Dolphins, the Patriots only allowed 7 points. At halftime the score was 42-7. In essence, the second half was garbage time for the Patriots defense. The only thing exposed was the Patriots second string quarterback.

Exposed??? In the first half...0-6 in 3rd down attempts?? Only 1 TD..Is that exposed?? LOL LOL LOL...THAT is clearly laughable. Keep believing that..I LOVE IT!!! I think other things HAVE been exposed...
If you wish to talk about garbage time exposing a team...that is silly...
