not last year. i think 2 years ago. last year we were great

Devin Hester ain't got nuffing:rocker:

Very nice, but the Skins are right there with a 28.01 average :)

Don't forget: its only half the year and the Pats have a 108 yarder skewing the stats.

Right, because that particular return shouldn't really count

Yea kind of a strange comment. Thats like removing those 2 hail mary throws to Moss what you talk about the # of TD's Brady has.

Of course it counts. It happened. I'm just saying that the 108 yarder could skew the stats some.

Look at it in a different context: an RB has 100 yards on 20 carries. 5YPA. Good day right? What if he had 1 60 yard run and 40 yds on 19 carries (~2 YPA) otherwise. He had 1 lucky run and a crap day (or maybe really good if they were all 1yd scores).

Yea... I'm not a big advocate in saying, "Oh this doesn't count because of this reason, or because you played that team."

But why is that 60 yard run lucky? Perhaps the run was called at the perfect time. The OL did an excellent job firing out and the WR were in pefect position to block downfield.

Stop putting words in my mouth! I never said it didn't count.

Most teams have a long returns 'skewing' the stats right now. Is Willie's 77 yard return also 'skewing' the stats? Do the Pats not get credit for well executed returns?

It's lucky because I called it lucky and its MY imaginary running back!

Like how Portis had 2 TDs on 43 yards last game.

Only slightly. Take out the 108 and it's 27.5 ypr, good enough for 5th. If you do that, you have to account for Clev and NYJ who also have returns for TDs....

Weirdest thing I noticed was that Chicago's punt return average is higher than their kickoff return average..18.4 to 18.3......

30.9 vs. 27.5. Thats a 12% increase. One return accounts for 12% of the statistic. I would call that skewing it.

A 77-yarder, too...

...and a 48-yarder...

...and I think a couple for around 30...

...but yeah, aside from those, their kick returning hasn't been anything special. ;)

The kick return game is good, I am not disputing that. Averages usually don't tell the whole story. Having an NFL record KO return absolutley increases the statistic.
