...I think that ol' Gator deserves a HUGE round of applause when he comes back on Sunday.

The kid bailed us out and gave us a decent, servicable receiver when the cupboard was bare!

Caldwell and another Gator, Jabar Gaffney, took us about as far as we could last season on pure heart and moxie.

Now that we live in the age of the power trio of Moss, Stallworth & Welker, we might forget just how important Reche was to us last year!

Standing O from Florida for ya, there, Reche...chomp, chomp!

why would you cheer someone who cost us another trip to the superbowl?

is he even going to be active?

I agree. He isn't a #1, #2, or even a #3 WR, so we can't expect him to have played like one. He did his best, gave this team a chance, played with heart, and nearly helped us get to the SB last year. He deserves a huge ovation.

because if he didn't fall on the Troy Brown strip of the Tom Brady int in the Chargers game then the Pats wouldn't even have played in the AFCCG? just pretend you're clapping for that one play...

I have no problem with Reche. I don't think his drop cost us a trip to the Super Bowl, either, even if it was bad. I'd hope he gets a nice round of applause.

I'm assuming that was written tongue in cheek, but can't be sure.

The Pats wouldn't have gotten as far as they did if Reche hadn't outperformed his expectations by double.

If everyone on the Patriots exceeded his expectations as much as Reche Caldwell last year, they would have easily gotten their 4th ring.

Guy deserves a standing ovation.

Were they wearing bibs and "being supervised"? :)

Obviously I wanted him cut, but I still want Patriots fans to cheer for him.

He did his best for us, and was there when we needed him.

He's no Randy Moss, but that's not his fault.

meh

i made my peace

he's a Redskin now

Ha Ha. Very cute.
No, they all had beer. Maybe a little to much. You should have heard the uproar in my house when he dropped those passes.

While I was disappointed that he didn't come up with some key catches, I've got nothing against Reche. I'll join in and give him a polite clap if the rest of my Gillette bretheren and sisteren see fit to do so.

Sure, but the Colts won that game shoving the ball down Bruschi's mouth.

Anyone vilifying HIM?

The D lost that game, not the O.

Just try and explain that to a room full of angy, "DRUNK" Pats fans.
To this day they are irrational about it. I don't mind Reche. We wouldn't have got to far if he hadn't stepped up. But sometimes, people only "want to remember" the last thing that they saw.

Because he didn't cost us the trip to the SB. That is a typically *short* sighted take on a body of work. It also misdiagnoses the real problem against Indy: A collapsing defense, and a receiving corps that never should have been there at all.

Your take is typical of people that blame Buckner for booting the ball, while forgetting that the game was already slipping away due to other factors. The momentum had turned. You can't point at one convenient play to blame or you miss the bigger picture: Total collapse.

The Pats collapsed, the Sox collapsed, a lot of teams collapse and give the momentum away. It's not on one guy. It's not on one play.

He always gave his best, that's all you can ask.

I can't see people discounting how hard he worked to catch 65 balls when Brady had no one to throw to?

Sometimes I don't understand guys on here

Adam Vinatieri who is the guy who won 2 super bowls for us with crucial kicks time after time is booed and insulted because he left for bigger money to the enemy yet Reche who was responsible for messing up a play that could have had us headed to a super bowl should be applauded?

Crazy to me!
