'Skins should feel insulted!

Look for a tough game on Sunday.
Know where I can start looking? Not in Foxboro, that's for sure.

The Pats and Colts this year could lose any game, of course. Any Given SUnday, and all that.

But it is silly to say beforehand that the Colts or Pats will struggle in this game or that game. Neither team has struggled in any game yet this year.

The best you can do is play Borges. If you state the negative every time, sooner or later you will be "right" and can say, "I told you so."

But it's silly to say the Colts or Pats are in for trouble.

Except for Nov 4, when it is fair to say that one or the two will lose (though not necessarily play badly).

Wow, the Mayor of Homerville has just been compared to Borges.

That hurts!

Someone doesnt watch Skins games.

Actually, I live in Upper Montgomery County and have watched them all. They are what they are.

Perhaps you should be questioning the Redskins poster who wrote THIS above:

"We will see if Brady has the patience to take 10 plays to score."

No THERE'S some high comedy!

Yeah he's off base. But you're also off base if you're trying to imply the Skins arent as good as their record beause they've been in close games. If you have watched the games you'd know that the Skins dominated every one of those games up until the 4th qtr when the offense chose to disappear. The only game this didnt happen in so far is the Detroit game. The fact they could easily be 6-0 despite not yet putting together a complete game is why many fans are eager to see what happens when/if they do.

Oh, and the Cards beat the Steelers....

NE has covered every game. Vegas needed to start inflating the line. It isn't representative of likeliness to win.

Besides, the notion that they'd be more likely to win if insulted is silly. They'll already have all the motivation they need, playing against a juggernaut against whom no one is giving them a chance. If they win it gets listed as one of the many reasons. If they lose, well no one questions why because they were supposed to. It's observation bias.

Oh, and the Cards beat the Steelers....

Common opponent: Miami

Washington AT HOME: 16-13 in OT

NE AWAY (95 degree heat, wearing dark unis) 42 -7 AT THE HALF (then coasted)

Really, how much more need be said? Oh yeah, we get Richard Seymour back now.

The fact they could easily be 6-0

If your point is that the Skins have played tough in all their games, totally agree. Get to see quite a few games between being in NC and having family in DC.

Your 6-0 comment is a bit much. It assumes changing reality just in your favor. Let me go the other way:

Miami (at DC) - Fins 1st and goal with 3:15 to play down 10-13. They run it in for a TD with 2:00 left and win 17-13...instead of consecutive holding/intentional grounding penalties that led to a FG and overtime loss.

Arizona (at DC) - Cards 55 yd FG with 0:07 left is good and Cards win 22-21...instead of losing 19-21 when the FG goes just wide left.

So you could also be 2-4 without stretching reality very much at all. You are who you are. Don't worry, be happy.

So that means the 'Skins are better than the Steelers right?

If the Skins offense was better I think most of us would be giving them a chance. They have a great defense and most of us have praised it all week. But with Portis and Betts both struggling and Campbell not being able to carry a team the consensus is the Skins will hang tough for 2-3 quarters but eventually their defense is going to get tired and we'll pull ahead.

It doesn't mean we disrespect your team it's just our opinion and why we think our team will win.

I have to say every week we get an influx of posters from the opponent's fan base. There's usually a ratio of troll:good poster of about 5:1, some weeks with the Jets, Chargers, etc it can be worse. There's been a lot of good Skins posters this week. The thread on the Skins cover 3 was in fact great.

I haven't liked the Skins since Synder bought the team because he seems like a **** version of Cuban but I appreciate a fan base that can be civil yet passionate and talk about what goes on, on the field in a knowledgeable manner.

I will actually root for your team to do well after this week.

All this Miami overtime talk is pretty funny. It was the first game of the season. Most teams, short of the Patriots and Colts, do not play exceptional their first games. In that game we also lost one of our best Tackles, and threw in a rookie Stephon Heyer for the rest of the game. Heyer has never played Tackle.

Same here. Have family with some government connections so have been to a couple of games. Actually went to the game when the Skins tied the Giants (I think?) and Gus Frerotte decided to headbutt the stadium after scoring a TD. Classic. Kind of sums up the recent history for the Skins.

We will eliminate the 3 play drives. We will see if Brady has the patience to take 10 plays to score.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to pile on. Not on the guy who posted this but on the thinking.

This reminds me of what I keep hearing, "Brady doesn't like to get hit and can be rattled." Really? Because for a few years NE didn't have a very good line and the way Brady handled the pressure was consistently praised as one of his greatest qualities. Now that he has a great line and doesn't get hit much everyone ignores this.

It's the same with the long/short pass dichotomy. For years all NE did was dink-and-dunk their way down the field (and Brady couldn't throw a deep ball, supposedly). Now all he can do is throw deep jump-balls and can't work his way down the field (even though the team has sustained many long drives this year).

Might as well add the running game to this. They've run as often as they've passed this year yet they're portrayed as one-dimensional.

I guess my point is, don't draw conclusions from highlights or what you haven't seen a team/player do. Jason Campbell isn't lighting things up. I could conclude he isn't capable of doing so, or I could recognize that Gibbs isn't letting him.

I understand everything that you said. However, the Skins are 4-2 and they, being professional football players, have to feel insulted by that.

What do you think Rodney would be saying/thinking if it was reverse? It wouldn't matter if it was just gambling odds or not, the 16.5 point spread would be posted on every locker in the Patriots locker room.

Well the Pats took the then 5-0 Cowboys to the woodshed, so the Skins 4-2 record really doesn't impress me much. The Patriots JUGGERNAUT is running on all cylinders. I'm sure the Skins are feeling insulted but I really don't think there is much they CAN do about it. The Skins will try their darnedest but in the end they are overmatched and the Pats will steamroll them. The Skins may be 'good' but the Patriots are special. Just enjoy the show is what I say. I expect the Pats to score over 30 points again easily and I don't think the Skins offense can compete in a shootout.

Yo, calm down dude. All I'm saying is our defensive strategy will be to take away the deep ball. We will gladly give you the dinks and dunks. Nobody said that Brady was not capable of taking it. The way this season has gone, it seems like even when he forces the ball deep, Moss has been making catches. Our goals is to take that away.

Ariz. beat Steelers with a healthy Warner and at home.

Ariz lost to Redskins by 2 points on the road with Warners other arm masking taped to his torso.

BTW, the Pats would beat the Cardinals by their usual 20-28 points every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I put a few hundy down on this game. I really do not think the Pats can cover the spread. I expect a close game. The Pats seem to thrive on YAC. The Redskins D swarms the ball and really prevents this from happening.

If Wes "Vasoline Man" Welker, and Stallworth can be wrapped up after the catch, i think we have a fighting shot at this one.

Moss is always good for a TD but i will look for great coverage from springs and extra help over the top. Really helps us out that big Ben Watson is not playing.

It seems to me like any thing we say in optomism about our Skins is attacked immediately after by a Pats fan. Then other Pats fans join in and attack not only the comment, but the person as well. I have been called a Moron quite a few times already.

Reason #653 why the rest of the NFL isn't even in the same hemisphere as the Pats and the Colts.

I'm sorry to see you flush 200 hundred dollars down the drain but I assume you can afford it if you placed that bet. It doesn't pay to bet against the Patriots, especially not this season. The Skins might be able to keep it close in the first half but the second half is usually when the Pats pull away. Expect to see the Eff you TD as usual. This season BB is not so concerned about humility, and that's why you are seeing the spreads balloon... that and the Pats have been in a class of their own so far.
