To Patriots Fans ONLY

I have been reading alot of our threads especially those in which other teams fans come to join in friendly conversation.

I have to say that this season seems to bring out our worst.

our team is 7-0 and perhaps the best team in the NFL this year if not ever.

But the tone of our responses is extremely arrogant, demeaning, and bullying.

The problem is this really reflect bad on our ENTIRE FAN BASE. The Patriot players are responsible for the great season mates not us. Yet we thump our chest like we have some part in their success. I say we should start acting like the Patriot players do and respect our opponents.

We can surely find a way to tell Skin fans that we beleive the patriots will win without say "BECAUSE I SAID SO" or "HAVEN"T YOU WATCHED FOOTBALL".

MAN it is only week 8 - How will we be acting 6 weeks from now....

PS - If you are a fan from another team please refrain from posting - you should know by now your opinions may be discouinted

I think some of us are kneejerk about it, and others of us are REACTING to the typically baseless nonsense that EVERY OPPOSING FANBASE has been bringing in here for YEARS now. Meanwhile, as soon as I'm about to chastise those of us who just sort of automatically get jerky with the out-of-towners, said out-of-towners start flailing away.

I agree, I'm embarassed by some of the Pats fans on this board. I've been to half a dozen stadiums and (almost) always had a good time with the other teams' fans. The only place I see people being this disrespectful is here. Some of it is well deserved, there's a lot of trolling, but some of it is just unprovoked attacks. We can do better.

Yes but more than once I have seen posters from other teams get jumped on without even uttering a bad word. The child like responses that have infiltrated this site in the last few years have really gotten old and make this site a shadow of its former glory where we would talk football and let other teams fans come in and welcome them if they wanted to talk also.

It's amazing you post this, since the Redskins fans who are flowing here are coming from a website that doesn't even allow opposing fans to jump in.

Once again, bad analogy but I'll use it - - it's like the old police state Soviet Union crowing about how nice and orderly everything was there instead of the messy United States where people argued all the time.

In a free and open marketplace of ideas, you are going to get a full range of people and styles. The people at Extremeskins.com and so many other fan websites don't understand this at all. Had you read the discussions in other threads regarding this very issue, you would have seen several of the Redskins fans grudgingly agree on this very point.

You make a good point, food for thought. I think much of it has to do with hangover from the firestorm of the BB taping incident and all the piling on accompanying that, which we had to endure for weeks afterward. Anyone coming here to talk football in a reasonable manner should be met with courtesy.

I'm not quite sure you are correct in stating that we don't let opposing fans in. I think the only fans we tend to bash no matter what they say are Cowboy fans. That's because.. well.. they're Cowboy fans.

Speaking as a fan, I really don't know what you're talking about. I have no problem with any of the above at all. In fact, I think you're entitled to talk smack when your team is dominating this much. Maybe the team doesn't get to say it, but why can't we!? THIS I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH, and it does need to stop. This site is better than that.

It's the trolls.................... I have no problems with fans from other teams coming in here and talking football. I don't think anyone does. But to come into this place and have people (now even by fellow patsfan) basically chastize many of us for not bowing to every visiting teams "you better not overlook us" or "wh're gonna beat you" crap. Is sickning. Go to some of those other sites, it don't matter if we open our arms and blow kisses to them as they waltz through the door.

Once they get to their home sites, the tune changes to Cheatriots, Belicheat. "Brady's a ***", "Pats are classless", you know the drill. This is the one place I can come and talk a little smack with my fellow fans about MY BELOVED PATRIOTS. I don't live in Patriot Nation, I live in Western NY. I can't go to the water cooler and talk with my buds about "when Sey coming back" or "Gee, ya think Sanders will take Geno's spot". NO, cause I'll get the "don't forget the camera" sh!t. I have to come here to get good ole fashion "Our team is great" fan talk.

I don't argue with the locals any more, just basically shut my mouth and move along. It would be classless to get into "pissing matches" about stuff I can't change their opinions on anyway.

Now what you are saying is, we have to come in here and take it in the keister every fuhking Mon-Thurs from whatever Johnny come lately "other team" troll comes along. Screw that. THIS IS WHERE WE COME TO HANG OUT. If they want to come and talk ball, have at it. I'm all for it, but they ought to have some humility on our site. Some do, MANY DO NOT.

I've not said one disrepectful thing to a Skins fans this week, yet I now have to sit here and have people tell me to "stay classy", and we're stooping. You even RESPECTFULLY asked ONLY Patriot fans post in here. Yet, I see at least one Skin fan jumping in to "help us stay classy". Great..............
