According to Shalise Manza Young, Wilson is not present at practice. He is the new addition to missing players who include Watson, Alexander, and Morris.

I wonder if Wilson got injured in the Dolphins game and that was why he saw so few reps and didn't play in the final three series.

freaking secondary injuries...always hear them before a colts game.

Man, I was hoping for a dominate Wilson this year looks like I gotta hope the Patriots draft a Kenny Philips or that type of safety this year in the first round after we trade down of course.

This one isnt so bad especially with Sanders taking over as a starter.

Well, that brings up the question of whether Sanders earned the starter spot or Wilson has been nursing the injury he got earlier in the season that have has had him held out of many practices and just reagravated it. Sanders has had some coverage issues.

Holy crap! Does this mean that the team isn't inches away from releasing him? Maybe the guy is actually a decent player who missed time for reasons other than sucking?

You don't say...

I agree. The guy doesn't go from starting several games ago to being released. Especially since he is still a pretty good coverage safety and better than Sanders or Meriweather in that respect.

I personally haven't seen him suck any worse than many other players on the defense the last few weeks. People complain about his tackling, but he was the only one of about six defenders who tried to tackle and succeeded to tackle Marion Barber on that 2 yard play that he should have been hit in the end zone. And tackling was miserable by most of the defense against the Dolphins.

I did see Wilson make a very good tackle on Ronnie Brown on that 19 yard 4th and 1 where the Pats were stupidly in a nickel package. he might have gotten injured there because he did hit Brown head on and he is a wrecking ball.

I also think Wilson got his bell rung on the R Brown 19 yard run, maybe even an arm or shoulder injury. I think the coaching staff kept him out of the rest of the game for precautionary reasons; just as they are doing for practice this week.

It would have been nice to see Merriweather gets some quality snaps. it's hard to tell if he is a player or not at this point. Sanders doesn't make many big plays, but he also hasn't made many bad ones since the playoffs started last year.

I'd be very happy giving other players the week off against that sorry Redskins O. For one, I would LOVE to see Adalius take this week off. I know he won't, but it sure would be nice to give him some R & R, especially since his play has suffered quite a lot since he got dinged up.

This week would be a perfectly fine time for Geno to recover, as well. Go with Rodney, Sanders, Willie Andrews and Meriweather and live to tell the tale.

Do you remember about when it was in the game that run and tackle happened? I still have the game on my DVR and would like to look at it again.

He's been nursing injuries since 2004.

If he has a really debilitating injury, I apologize.

Who said he's being released?

Exaggeration to make the point. Wilson is a much better player than people here seem to think.

My personal opinion is that he switched to safety to save our ass and got excited about it. Rodney goes down, Eugene gets a couple nicks and bruise and throwing his body around isn't so exciting anymore.

No shame in that, as far as I'm concerned. The guy was a cornerback. If he's not going to hit like a safety, I'd like to see him back at corner, personally.

We stand to lose 1 or 2 corners next year, while we look pretty good at safety, I think.

NE looks pretty good at safety *because* they aren't counting on Rodney and Wilson for much longer, IMHO.

geno wilson injured?... maybe we should start a thread about wilson made of glass.:)
