Wouldn't it be wise to sit Adalius Thomas this week?

I KNOW it's not going to happen, but the guy's been banged up for a couple of weeks and, as a result, hasn't played nearly as well. Sure, we've got that BYE coming up, but I know we can hold off that miserable Washington offense without Adalius playing. Would love to have some of the younger LBs see some action and give Thomas a chance to recover a bit, leading up to the Indy game.

I am not suggesting this will happen. It WON'T. I just think it should. (And I'm pretty sure BB doesn't give a crap what I think.)

Last Sunday against what amounted to a game against a practice squad that happened to count towards the standings, Belichick rested Maroney after 7 carries, despite his running effectively, and not having any sort of setback.

My guess is, if he felt that Thomas' health would benefit from fewer reps, he would have sat him for much of that game.

Might as well as just play all of your second stringers because we are just soo pathetic...... PSHHHH

No one said your team was pathetic, he said your offense was. And it is, you can't deny that.

I mentioned ONE guy. Because he's a little nicked up. Relax.

P.S. 13-10. Against MIAMI. Shut it.

Waahington's offense is far from miserable. Let's not disrespect them too much. Santana Moss will be tough to contain, and they have several tough runners.

P.S it was 16-13... and they still scored 15 more points on you with their Backup as the new starter.............

Well, if he feels like playing he may be tough to contain...

Well since Thomas has been removed from the injury report there seems to be no way he "sits out".

If he was injured BB would have sat him in the 2nd half of the phins game. We need him to help stop the very good running game of the skins.

Great posts by you Redskins Xtrasmall; your football knowledge knows no bounds ace...................

Last I heard, this game still counts in the standings. If we are ahead by a lot, we will sit players, but not until then. I wouldn't be surprised to see Seymour get a few reps.

I am hoping you are trying to be funny with the Xtrasmall thing and realize XLII is the roman numeral for 42.......

Clearly this is the only thread in which you have read my posts. I was simply responding to the fact that our offense is not that horrible and pathetic and it seems silly to sit down a great defender when every week counts.

If you want to go with the "the Pats defense stinks" theory, go for it. I still think it's pretty likely we contain the juggernaut that is the Washington offense.

I did not say that.... i am simply just saying they scored more points on you than on us. One game does not condem a team either way. Although they are pretty superior athletes, NFL players are still humans and can have bad days.

Well, he IS "injured," but what I think you probably mean is if he is so injured that he shouldn't play, then BB would have sat him. Fair point - and as I tried to make clear in the original post of this thread, I realize it's not going to happen, the aptly named RichardHead and his comments not withstanding.

And I would have to counter with "WE WERE UP BY 35 POINTS." You people need to have a little perspective about the Pats D. Then again, no one else is - suddenly Indy's D is way better than ours - so I don't know why it would be different, even with a relatively knowledgable fan-base like Wash.

I have never once said Indy's D was better, because statistically speaking it is not.

I don't think Belichick would ever do it because it sends the message to the players that he is looking past the current game.
