You'd think they'd like our team.
Beat the Cowboys.
Humbled the Cowboys' fans.

Many of them are advocating taking Brady out with a cheap shot, so any poo flung their way is deserved. It also shows you how much confidence they have in that supposed great defense of theirs if they think they need to take out Brady to win.

I didn't see that over there, but nope, that isn't it.

What is the fundamental thing about that board that flies out at you while reading that thread?

Oh I knew what this topic was getting at. It's the fact they don't allow fans of other teams to come in and stir the place up. But I just thought I'd mention that the fans calling us arrogant and classless are hoping for a cheap shot to take Brady out of the game.

I am actually quite amazed how much this messageboard allows visiting fans to say whatever they want. Its kinda nice. We get banned too quickly on other teams sites espcially with tongue in cheek comments.

Jealousy is a disease, and the entire country is sick. They are all just mad we have some very good sports teams to root for at the moment. I mean honestly , the redskins and the nationals?

Oh please they are just sour.

OK, I'll bite: no opposing fans!

Is this your subtle way of letting Redskins fans know that the place to come visit is our Visiting Locker Room?

And MAGICALLY, just MAGICALLY, in the last few minutes "voila" a "Patriots fan" all of a sudden makes a debut on the thread, making "her" first post ever there!!!!! :D :D :D

Think there was some scurrying around at Extremeskins.com to try to right an embarrassing situation?????????

Not at all. If they are discussing this week's game they are more than welcome to opine here freely and openly. Just no politics, harsh vulgarity or calling anyone "subhuman" and it's all good.

Judging from Extremeskins.com, however, they may not be used to give and take.

They all seem to be upset that the Pats fans are overlooking them which sounds about right with all of the Dolts threads around here, but I highly doubt the team is doing the same. From all the press conferences and interviews I've heard this week, both the Colts and Pats sound like they're doing a good job of avoiding the Nov. 4th questions. I'm sure the players and coaches aren't viewing these as "trap games" like some Skins fan mentioned.

Having lived in Viriginia since 1993, I have a very clear idea of what Redskins fans are like.

The sad part is they usually exhibit a Dan Synder type point of view. Even the smartest ones seem to have a denial mind-set.

They always think they are way better than they actually are.

They think the NFL owes them something, because after all, they are the Redskins and they are better than their record suggests. Year after year.

They are fascinated by the "STAR" player. They always have an individual name on the tip of their tongue, no team concept. Sean Taylor will come up big, Lavar Arrington will make the difference, Moss will come up big, Coles will come up big, we have Bruce Smith, we have Portis, we have Riggins, we have Sammy Baugh, we have Joe Gibbs, we have WHOEVER.

The problem is that football was a team sport then, and is a team sport today. One player can't take on 11 players.

A couple of years ago in the preseason, the Redskins stunk up the joint. So Synder proudly put up signs at the stadium suggesting that they had the same lousy record going into one of their superbowl seasons. The implication was clearly that he felt the preseason was a great indication of things to come (and it was).

The stuff about injuring Brady is just another example of the mind-set. We are the Redskins and we deserve to win so let's take out Brady with a cheap shot. Yeah, that would be so cool and it would show them...

LIVING IN DENIAL.

Do they have a 2 week waiting period for account activation? If so I'm sure that works great to keep the trolls down, by the time the trolls get in their team's already been beat. :D

Regarding what they're saying....I think they're right, I saw half a dozen or so Redskins fans come in here, knowing that they probably weren't going to win, but still wanting to talk about football, most have been respectful and even praising of the Pats and they've been met pretty rudely with alot of blow hard arrogance on this board. It's not like they're division rivals and spouting off the same BS, we only see them once every few years. That's not how Pats fans used to be, we were for the most part humble like our team. It's changing and I think we are becoming more like Red Sox fans, I know that's what the local media wants since half the articles written about the Pats have baseball references in them.

Good point. Perhaps that is WHY Extremeskins.com has the two week waiting period. To avoid the "unpleasantness" of opposing viewpoints.

We don't feel that way here. Rude or not, there is a free exchange of ideas here. Obviously the folks who are used to 100% backpatting at Extremeskins are not used to it. It's understandable.

Here's a fun quiz for everyone:

Read this thread over at Extremeskins: What pops out as an obvious difference between how that Forum is run and how this one is run?

http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218237&page=2&pp=15

Unbeilevable, what a bunch of ****ies. They come to OUR site, act like a-holes and then pull the "they are disrepecting us" and "the're not being nice" crap. What the heck did they expect............ 4 pages of crap on that thread and only ONE rational post in the bunch.

Face it, for every nice and respectable fan that comes here to "talk football", there are 4-5 other just being asses, including the guy that started the post over there.

To the gentleman that started this thread:

I really don't like people like you. Why on earth would you go to another teams board and strat runnig your mouth. Actually, why would you go to another teams board to begin with. Don't you have better thigns to do? I hate it when other teams fans come here, this is our site, not theirs. Same goes for us. Stay here with Skins fans, don't go wandering around like some douche. You're that guy at a party or the bar that runs his mouth just to hear himself talk, and then wonder why no one likes you, or why no one wants to hang out with you. Root for our team to win. Take our teams back. Honestly though, the way the Skins are playing right now, we (and by we I mean you) have absolutely no ground to stand on to tell other teams fans that we are going to beat them. We're 4-2, yes we COULD be 6-0, but we're 4-2 and we're only 4-2 by the skin of our teeth. We're lucky right now. I think we have a great defense and our team as a whole has a lot of potential, but until we start crushing good teams, and winning consistently, we shouldn't be runnig our mouths, we should be hoping and praying.

Only one thing comes to mind...........

The Redskins fans that have come to this board have been mostly intelligent and polite. Pretty ideal as visitors go, really.

If you think they represent the typical Redskins fan, than you are only kidding yourself. I have met about 600 Redskins fans, and they all act the same way...

The posters at this board don't represent the typical Pats fans either, IMO. Most people amoung my many family and relatives and friends still in NE are pretty objective about the team's strengths and weaknesses in any given year. I don't know where the knee-jerk fanboys or perpetual rosy-glass homers come from, but I haven't met many in the general public who go off the deep end in one direction or the other. I think most Pats fans realize we come from a humble background.

I thought that was the point you were making...and yes..a good one..I don't frequent other boards..but that seems to be the case...IT is good here for others...I feel the mods do a great job..

(Disclosure: Uneven analogy ahead--not intended to equate one board with a political system):

Folks of a certain age can remember when officials from the Soviet Union would travel to the United States and make comments of how they were shocked by the loud and rude political demonstrations they experienced in America and how unruly the Americans were.

Unlike how nice, clean and decent everything was back home where everyone agreed.

Wow. They repeat the mantra "we have a good defense and you haven't played anybody," provide nothing else, don't listen to a word we write about how good this NE team is, and then call us out on it on their own board. Nice.

There are quite a few fans on that site saying that they'd be saying the same stuff if their team was 7-0. It seemed fairly split, just like any message board.

I'm not old enough to relate but like it anyway. Over-moderation and fascist policies suck. Deal with the individuals who go too far rather than punish everyone.
