New England's top ranked offense will face a tough test against the NFL's fifth-ranked defense, a Redskins unit that is allowing just 14.7 points per game.

Additionally, the Patriots will face a team that they have not defeated in more than 35 years, having lost six straight games to Washington dating back to 1972.

it's a streak worth noting...

just a question.

How is it a streak worth noting? What does a game played 10 or 20 years ago have to do with the game being played this Sunday?

A bunch of games that were played in the 70s have no bearing on October 28th. Only one of the games has been played recently, and both teams are much different from the two that met back in 2003. I'm not saying that this means the Pats will win, but regardless of the winner, the streak had nothing to do with it.

IT'S A STREAK THAT'S BEEN NOTED IN AT LEAST 3 OTHER THREADS THIS WEEK. Try reading.

Oh just to weigh in, we're going to absolutely crush your team. A team that was able to muster only 13 points against Miami - a team the Pats could actually have dropped 80 on. Seriously.

We've been living under the "Curse of the Boston Redskins" for too long. ;)

They moved out a long time ago, it's time to bury the ghost!!!!!!

Good - I thought the Pats had nothing left to prove....apparently they still need to beat the Foreskins Sunday.

Seriously... just like Bono from the South Park episode.

Do all the Redskins players have tickets for the Super Bowl BTW? I'm trying to make sense out of your username.

Meh ill probably go to see the Pats win.... seriously...

They said there'd never be another football team in Boston after the Redskins.

We have the best offense, they have one of the best defense.

But we also have one of the best defense, while they have one of the worst offense.

All I know is if watson playing, it be easier for Brady. Let hope for Seymour playing a bit to shake his rusts off.

Oh God, I remember when Gus Frerotte came to town with Michael Westbrook and dominated the Pats years ago.

The sad part about it is Frerotte is still playing.

Comments like this (not sure if you are joking or not) are why the other teams fans hate us. I don't care if you want to be a homer and pick the Pats, but at least provide some legitimate statistical evidence rather than just saying "Yeah we will crush you."

Does anyone care about all the inactives last time? Nine starters were out last time. Russ got his first start that day!

Let's not forget who was playing cornerback for the redskins at the time.

First of all, it's not like the teams play each other every season. There is not much continuity when you play 6 times in 35 years. This was totally useless information.

And so far as your Redskins unit allowing just 14.7 points per game... now it's time for the REST of the story:

That defense will be going up againsts an offense scoring 39.9 ppg... that averages out to 26.9 points.

The Washington O averages 17.4 ppg. The Patriot D averages giving up 17.1 ppg. THAT averages out to 17.3...

OK, so if you want to quote averages, the Pats win 27-17... so how silly is it to pose the Redskin ppg average as argument?
