I totally agree. It is funny though. Both the Rams and Colts have run up the score in years they were the best offenses in the league, but I have never seen it as much of a big deal from the media and fans of other teams before this year with the Pats.

If you look in the media though, most former coaches and players have no problem with the Pats running up the score. Mike Ditka, Bill Parcells, Mike Golic, Marc "Stink" Schlereth, Boomer Easiason, and others have all echoed Taylor's sentiments. Ironically, Marino is the only former player who seems to critical of the Pats when he has been known to run up the score himself in his day.

It seems to me like Jason Taylor is sick of the Dolphins. There is no doubt in my mind he is gone after this season. Hopefully he plays well the rest of the way so we can get a first rounder for him.

3 years ago yes a first rounder was possible...now a 2nd or 3rd at best

I had wanted Booby Grier to take Jason Taylor with their 2nd-round pick (and Sam Madison with their 1st) in the 1997 draft. I have therefore watched his career with begrudging (to Miami) respect. That respect has grown into admiration, for Taylor has been a class act for a decade, and truly understands the entire concept of winning football, on and off the field. I would love to see him retire as a Patriot, and a champion; I just don't see that happening right now. Never say never, however.

Taylor and Thomas are 2 players I have great respect for even if they play for the fish.
Same with Ronnie Brown killing for me in fantasy football but besides that he is a hell of a athlete as well as person.

Are you telling me you wouldn't have given up a first rounder for JT after the kind of year he had last year? Moss is over 30, would you give up a first for him?

I know we won't get a first out of Taylor, but maybe if he has another late season surge we could get a 1st from a team pushing for a Super Bowl title with a team that has a closing window. i.e the Ravens.

AFter the game I noted Jason Taylor talking to Belicheck for some time. After I read his comment I immediately thought Bill is going to try to get this guy.

Face it he wants a ring before he retires.

Miami will not win a SB while he is there.

NE will likely win 2 or 3 in next 5 years or so.

Jason Taylor IS WORTH a 1st round pick - Just not picks 1 -10!

I see the PATs trading down the SF pick - I guess will be #6 or #7 to some team for next years #1 and a 4th to the 22 - 27 position and giving that pick to the Dolphins.

I see Jason Taylor playing OLB - probably replacing Vrable with Vrable sliding inside - replacing Bruschi

JT would have to play linebacker in this 3-4 and the question is whether JT playing linebacker is a significant enough of an upgrade from one of our current linebackers to give up a first. When you look at it that way, then no.

Taylor's not going to give his all from here on out when he knows it's an exercise in futility in that Dolphins defense not to mention that, with a base salary of $7.5M next year, he's likely to be playing elsewhere when next Sept rolls around. Thus his play won't be commensurate with a high draft pick compensation. Not when he's going to be 34 years old when next season starts.

My guess is the Pats will simply wait until Miami decides not to pay Taylor his $7.5M salary next year and they cut him.

There was a picture of them meeting after the game that said it all IMO. Couldn't find it at the herald, sentinel or PBP but it's a pic of Taylor shaking Billichick's hand and the look on his face says, "Get me out of here!"

As for the bold, slow down there partner. You speak as if winning Super Bowls is easy. To claim any team will likely get multiple Super Bowls in a 5 year span is a bit of a stretch.

I would hate to see Jason in a Pats uniform, but if you guys want to give us a first; by all means, please do.

Last year there may have only been 2 or 3 players that were bigger game changers than JT. 9 forced fumbles, 2 INTs taken to the house and 13.5 sacks? He changed 6 games last year otherwise the Fins could've been 0-16. He's slowed down a bit, but JT has been a monster game changer in his career.
