Indy Star Article regarding Colts Schedule

I like how Dungy called the NFL to complain about the schedule. Color me shocked, SHOCKED I tell ya. Dungy called to complain about something, this must be a misquote. Indy should probably be more responsible with their fact checking.

I just like for all the Pats fans to read what I have to hear everyday at work/home/bars............Nope, no specific one.

Well hopefully soon the Indy fans will be going quiet, very quiet....:)

The Colts are fresh off an 14 day vacation. Did they complain about that?

Is this Mensa member one of them?

How much more money does NE have access to compared to the Colts.
The Colts have put together a team in the right way, and they are winning. NE can't hold a candle to that."

How can anyone who watches NFL football be so ignorant as to not know about a salary cap? NE has access to more money for it's team than Indy does??

It's amazing to what lengths some Colts fans will go to in order to slam the Patriots.

Yeah, try listening to that while drinking in a bar. It's nearly impossible not to start a fight over it. Sunday, they were screaming that we were running up the score IN THE FIRST HALF............Not all of their fans are like this, but since I have to go to the bars to watch N.E. games (not always televised) I have to put up with the worst ones. Oh well, I guess that's what I get for being a NE fan in a different city, especially this one.

The writer provides a great little nugget of info: Sunday road game after a monday night road game has happened 24 times. So this is the 25th....and the Colts complain about it. I'd understand if it were 1st or 2nd, but 25th? Come on Colts, you're better than that (but not really).

Wow, love this comment:
"Once again the Colts show their professionalism. They point out it is a bad situation and then follow it up with the reality it is not an excuse, and we'll deal with it.

How many times have we seen people in similar situations (Phil Jackson comes to mind) in which they whined for weeks and months."

I'm pretty sure it said flat out that the team complained about it. It's a great way for Dungy to make himself sound great, complaining but then saying "Oh, it happens."

I love how the writer alludes to and the fans' responses outright say that it is some kind of conspiracy to hurt the Colts. Some even suggest that they favored the Pats. Funny, going into the season the Patriots were supposed to have one of the toughest schedules. It isn't the Pats' fault that teams like the Jets and Cincy have totally fallen apart.

On a side note, I went to look up Indy's schedule and I saw something funny. Even as Super Bowl champs, their attendance at home is only 95% of capacity and a little more than 57K people. And the RCA dome is one of the loudest stadiums without artificially piping crowd noise? The Pats sell out over capacity and have over 10k more people each game and they don't get nearly as loud. Are you going to say a dome makes that much of a difference?

In reading the posts at the end of the article, sounds to me like the Indy Fans are already coming up with an excuse should the Patriots trounce their butts in two weeks.

WAAAAA....we had to play Jacksonville on Monday (away) and then play Carolina the following Sunday (away) and then they schedule us to play the Patriots. "What did you guys expect??!! The league is monopolized by Robert Kraft and his control over Commish Goodell!! Of course we were gonna lose!! No team can play that sort of schedule and win!!"

What are your thoughts??

"Schedule maker does no favors for Colts"

Ya don't say! Welcome to life as the defending champions. You're supposed to have the toughest schedule in the league.

Yes, the dome will make that much of a difference.

Also, the "95% of capacity" makes no sense... wouldn't they be blacked out on TV most of the time if that were really true? I have to believe they are full every week.

Someone call up Easterc0ck and let him know that yes, in fact, the Colts are *****y little whiners.

I didn't hear any complaints from Dungy last year when we played Minnesota on Monday night and had a short week to prepare for the Colts. Whining seems to permeate the Colts franchise.

You know, I try very hard not to take a few articles and reading the absolute buffoons on the Indy forum and generalize an entire fan base, but just a sampling. I hate that all Boston fans are labeled as what some are, and they are ridiculous, so I try not to do the same. Man they make it hard though, every single thing I read makes me believe it really is some kind of cult. They are all so programmed that no rational thought outside of what they have been programmed to think can be processed.
If you said this to an Indy fan there would be a whole diatribe after it telling you how you are now just making excuses as to why the Pats were just so owned by the Colts. More owned than any other team on the planet. The fact that they have to play a MNF game and be put in the never happened before position of having to play again on Sunday is just completely and utterly unfair.

Teams buy their own tickets to avoid blackouts all the time. That is the way teams that never sell out get around the rules. A team won't do it if they are only 85-90% of capacity, but that 5% missing is only a few thousand seats for the Colts to buy and they still can resell them.

I still think the dome is not as big effect as it seems. There are several dome teams that are never really as loud. Considering Polian got into a physical altrication because he complained that the speakers were too close to the field and the Colts have been accused of piping crowd noise before, I bet Polian has first hand experience with speakers close to the field and piping in crowd noise into the RCA dome.

I don't really know what to think about the "fake" crowd noise argument. I know I have been in the dome a few times and it is extremely loud. I was in Cincy for the MNF game and it was never even close to how loud the Dome gets. I think a big part of that is the structure itself, but I could be wrong. I'm also very sure that the Dome is sold out on game days. Even living here if I didn't have connections I wouldn't be able to get tickets (not that I want them or actually get them). I will say that the people of this town have rallied behind the Colts lately (which is a whole different story) and everywhere you go you see at least 10 Manning jerseys. I'm sitting in a cubicle right now and I can see someone wearing an Edgerrin James jersey (also a diff topic for a diff day). This whole city has jumped on the bandwagon so the loudness of the dome is no surprise.
