iam listening to it now and their show so much better than the WEEI crap.
They are talking pats/colts. Very balanced talk . they keep saying they dont like BB but say he is a great coach and in the post season he becomes even better. Take a listen if you'd like , they are NYC based but much easier on the ears than the shriek fest of john dennis on WEEI

Since I moved to CT I I started listening to WFAN. Most of the guys on WEEI (e.g., Glen, Fred) are utterly intolerable IMO. Callers on the FAN are thoroughly screened then have a few seconds to make an intelligent point or they are vanquished. Sure they are NYers, but all in all, much more pleasurable and informative. Makes WEEI sound embarassingly bush league by comparison.

Other than Michael Holley, discussions in Gillette bathrooms do the same. They are terrible.

I would say New York fans are some of the most objective fans out there. There first instinct is definitely hatred and jealousy, but it is not blind homerism. This generally makes their talk radio a little bit more enjoyable.

THANK YOU! I've been looking for a good internet radio station.

Yup - I agree 100%. I live in NJ so I don;t get to hear WEEI but WFAN definitely is enjoyable and callers/hots make really good points. It also helps that Russo is a die hard Yankee hater - gives teh show a bit more spice.

Is Steve Somers still on? Best sports talk radio host ever.

Dont get excited , the Mike and the Mad Dog show, which is a good balance, does focus on the Yankees and baseball alot... But I do like both guys ,even thought they hate Belichick and Kraft...

I'm in western mass and listened to the FAN quite a bit before WEEI was broadcast out of Springfield. I like Mike and the Mad Dog.

WEEI is being broadcast out of Springfield???? When did this start?

I agree. WFAN is in a seperate class above WEEI. Well balanced and informative. Provides a great perspective on the NY sports scene if you can tolerate the NY sports talk.

Its like comparing CNN to Channel 4 w/ Jack and Lisa (although easy on the eyes)

Joe Begingo is a BB fan, from what I hear.Joe will often get BB on the phone to interview him on air and its usually good.Beningo is a Jets fan ,of course, but he knows the game well, and is usually fair in regard to other teams. My 2 cents...

I've only listened to Mike and the Mad Dog a few times when driving through NY and they are so much more tolerable. I think it helps them to be more objective that one is a Yankees fan and the other a SF Giants fan (I think?).

WEEI encompasses everything I don't like about being a Boston fan. They're loud, obnoxious, completely unreasonable and argue like fifth graders. They always slide in really annoying political snipes and they think they're funny when they aren't at all. The whiner line makes me cringe it's so stupid, and nothing is more infuriating to listen to than a bunch of fat mopes second guessing everything that Francona does and seriously entertaining discussions about the dumbest phone calls imaginable. Holley is good, though, but not enough to get me to listen to EEI anymore.

Let's not go overboard here folks on Mike & Mad Dog. These two are lazy lazy talk show hosts, overpaid and, um, overfed. They just do not know about most of the issues they try to discuss. They are good on baseball. They fall asleep at the switch when it comes to football, esp. college football.
