I thought that all sports teams made the players fly to and from games together. Unless there is a family matter. Is this true or do the Patriots let players go where they want after games with permission?

Ask Ty Law about that

I am only asking a question not spreading gossip. I like brady alot. However, I have seen pictures of him with Gisele kissing in miami. I do not really care what he does on his day off. However, I think players should fly back with the team. I think players should fly back with the team then go where they want after the return to Boston. 2 reasons team safety and team bonding.
What did Ty Law do?

Jealous of who. Tom or Giesele? :D

Honestly, i just think players should stay with the team. As much as I like Brady he should not get special treatment.

Maybe he was given permission, y'know, after throwing 5 TDs, then coming off the bench to throw one more.

When you get your own team you can do that.

Contrary to public opinion, all the great coaches treated their players differently.

Brady works harder than anyone in the offseason and is a true leader. There isn't a soul in that locker room that isn't happy for Tom to get a little Brazilian boom boom (that's what they call it, I had a Brazilian girlfriend:D ) to help him relax for the home stretch.

Rayclay ,I hope you are right. I remember a few years before the RedWings won there first Stanley Cup they gave Yzerman a few days vacation in Florida.(during the season, after they had a playoff spotwrapped up) Alot of his teammates did not like it. Of course two years later they won the first of three Stanley Cups. I guess if you win know one cares what you do.

Late in the 4th Quarter...

BB : We need you back in the game... Cassel sucks.

TB : Okay... but I get to stay overnight in Miami, lay by the pool at the swankiest hotel in town and bang Gisele until Tuesday morning.

BB : Deal.

Gisele is hot even without the make-up.

who cares about Gisele. Brady needs to turn around. A man must have takin those photos. Really, he should stay with the team if for no other reason but saftey.

Coaches should treat everyone the same. The statement "contrary to opinion great coaches treat players differently" is baseless, I think. It's kind of presumptive and condenscending, as though he's explaining a football fact that only insiders such as himself know. Same goes for the "when you get your team you can do it your way". You could say that about any team decision. Just haughty and condescending.

But maybe he asked for a personal day off.

But in general, I think it's right that players should be treated the same and that it's best for players to fly back together. Anything other than that has the potential for being divisive.

Not in that lockerroom it doesn't. If you think he didn't consult his fellow captains as well as the coaching staff, you're kidding yourself. The guy is the hardest worker on the team, they all realize that which is why I dont think they have a problem with it.

Of course you have problems when players run the team. Look at the history of the Red Sox.

On the other hand, look at the Celtics. Read up on Auerbach, you'll be surprised that he treated players very differently.

Some players were sensitive to criticism so he wouldn't yell at them. Tommy Heinsohn (substitute joker Vrabel) didn't give a damn. If Auerbach was mad at some guy's effort, he would tell at Heinsohn, (even when he scored 40, he'd yell about his rebounding) Heinsohn realized he was being used but when A uerbach explained it, he just laughed. Of course the guy who was really goofing off felt terrible when poor Tommy took the heat and went out and produced.

People don't realize that Bill Russell was a terrible practice player. He hated it and saw no point in doing more than the minimum when it didn't count.

One day Auerbach got tired of it and laid into him in front of the team and got Russell pissed. That practice Russell ran up and down the court like a demon, blocking every shot, getting every rebound, stealing balls and going in for stuffs. It was so bad, they had to cancel practice because nobody could get anything done.

Russ lazed through practice after that and nobody questioned him, because he played the real games like his life depended on it.

A coach needs the respect of his team, not strict rules. BB's got that respect and tom has it in spades. I guarantee that everyone in that locker room respects both of them and wants Tom to be *ahem* relaxed for the second half.

I heard several players stayed behind! The team had 2 days off, and many times if the win big on the road, they get the option to stay behind. This is Miami after all. If it were Detroit or Green Bay, I think they all go home, ;)

Not all of them are sought out by the paparazzi so Brady got the face time. Seriously, what it the big deal here? He works his butt off and deserves the time off. We want him fresh, not burnt out and at the pace he works I am willing to bet his coach is aware and cautious in keeping his QB happy and fresh.

Why start a thread on this, just start'in trouble!

If my post is starting trouble do not read it. Brady works hard.so does alot of the guys on the team.

remember reading Education of a Coach, and how BB as much as he liked LT, he felt that his special treatment had a negative effect on the team. With that being said, I would think that the trip home is not a big deal as long as you are where you should be for the Tues AM mandatory stuff. They are on the road, it is one extra day.. may have more positive effect on Brady to relax.
