FWIW
was discussing the pats/colts game. Thinks both offense's are evenly matched but the pats D can be had. He thinks BB put tom brady in yesterday to protect his defense.in his words - the names on the jerseys of the pats LB are great but they are aging and the colts will be able to run the football and control the clock and keep the ball away from brady and complete a few passes to clark and co to win the game

Who is Eric Allen?

Well, the Colts did light up that NE defense last season to the tune of 38 pts and 455 yards.

The Colts are balanced on offense. They can run the ball and are committed to doing so.

The Phins put up 400 yds of offense on the D last week.

Brady didn't come back in because the defense was stuggling but came back in because Cassell thought his receivers to throw to were wearing Dolphins uniforms

Matt's throw brought back memories of Hugh Millen trying to hit receivers of the opposite color jersey

This whole thing about the Patriots not being able to run the ball is crap. The Pats #1 RB has been out for half the year the they still have the #7 rushing offense.

Yeah, an injury/flu riddled team missing key starters.

Keep ignoring the facts.

i think our running game is fine. We are just not running it from the get go which makes people think we dont run much. But our run D can improve.

Keep making excuses.

Of course the Colts were missing a starting safety and WR.

I'm sorry...so the Pats team that you came back against and BARELY BEAT WASN'T missing key starters???

The Pats put up 27 with a crappy receiving corp, and no RBs against your shoddy defense, so 54 this year isn't out of reach.

Unlike the Colts, the Pats can stop the run. We are still porous in the middle but hopefully that's the result of missing Seymour and hopefully he will be back for the game.

However, the fact remains, that it's idotic to claim that the Pats D can be had more than Indy's D. We played without a key starter in the secondary (yeah, I know he's looking like crap since he's been back) for 4 games and without one of the top DLs in the game for 7 games and still are doing well defensively.

Huh? What starting safety and WR?

(Not that it matters if you were missing a safety, they are all crap, except Sanders and he was in the game). So were Wayne and Harrison who are your top receivers...

Mike Doss and Brandon Stokely. And we lost starting DT Montae Reagor in Week 7 for the season.

Your RB corps isn't any better now than it was in 2006.

The Colts' defense is much better now than in 2006, and so is the offense.

So what you are saying is your corners this year are better than Jason David and Nick Harper? - I don't think so despite the record

Absolutely. Bigger and more physical.

And much younger as well.

LMAO @ Mike Doss & Reagor. Must say, one good thing about Indy having a shoddy D is that when one shoddy player is lost, you can just replace them with another player without having to worry about a decline in play. Come on...you didn't miss Doss or Reagor and losing Stokely helped you. The Pats weren't prepared for the bench warmer T.E.

Really, that Colt's D that gave up 160 to Denver in the first half? That gave up about 10 yards on every carry? Or how about your Pass D, that would have been sliced apart by Jacksonville if they had an AVERAGE QB. Listen, your replacement parts this year are definitely "better" than Harper, June, etc. , they have speed, and they tackle well, (much better than the Pats), but your D still isn't any good. Your D and the atrocious D the Pats played against the Dolphins are even. However, if the Pats play D as they played earlier in the year (i.e. to their potential) and if Seymour returns and plays to form, then the Pats D is MUCH BETTER than the Indy D.

What you see with Indy right now is the best you'll get. What you're seeing with the Pats is their worst and they're statistically even with/better than Indy.

Come on...have you seen David and Harper play? They are ATROCIOUS. I was pissed when Indy didn't resign them. Indy definitely upgraded, not that there was any other place to go but up..

I guess the lack of Redskins fans willing to venture in these parts means we get the hick nonsense a week early. Wonderful. :bricks:

I thought Harper played well on that D - David was decent at times but appears to struggle at times like he is now with N.O.
