Has he been humbled this year so far? Discuss....

Um...okay, I'll bite. ...No?

I think he has played pretty good this year. But far from the level he was expecting to get paid for. You think it humbled him a little?

Nope, I just think you're an idiot in a NEW way now. Good God. THIS is what you're bringing today? Asante Samuel has been VERY good this season. What are you even TALKING about???

I just said I think he has played pretty good. I dont think Asante has played like he is the top corner in the leauge.

Everything I've seen and read echoes with the words, "Well, since he's playing like this, he's backing it up TWO YEARS IN A ROW - maybe he IS worth the money."

I apologize for taking it to an unpleasant level, but I am reading/hearing this constantly. Where have you been?

I know. I think he is playing pretty good. I just dont know if the pats are going to shell out giant money for him. I was hoping he was humbled a bit.

He'll get his cash if he keeps playing like this, just not here. This will be 2 years in a row and I think Mangini would overpay to get him there.

I know he will get cash, but do you think he is worth top money? I was hoping he was humbled a bit.

I said he was doing pretty good. I dont think he is worth 80 million is what Im saying.

I don't disagree on that. And I understand being hopeful that his price tag is going down. I don't think it is.

Name the big plays where Samuel has been beaten. He's played very well indeed, IMO, especially considering he was coming in cold without a training camp.

My wording was not very good. I was asking if you think he has been humbled and maybe would accept a deal for a little less then 500 trillion bucks.

Fair enough...my answer is, alas, no f-ing way.

In the new pass-happy don't-touch-my-QB-or-receivers NFL, a good CB who can make plays on the ball is just about the hottest commodity going. Samuel will be incredibly hot on the FA market.

In fact, I think we could be in for a nasty surprise in negotiations with Randall Gay, too. Look at the Colts last season, resigning themselves to losing Nick Harper then watching the Saints shell out big money to lure away Jason David. I mean, Jason David for crying out loud!

Had a chance to watch his play up close and personal yesterday, 5th row endzone, and to answer the thread question... He will go into negotiations with confidence and aggressiveness...just like he plays. He is a much better athlete than I could have imagined, with closing speed, leaping ability, and a nose for the ball. I just hope that all the contract guys relish this team and its potential over the next few years and value greatness more than extra dollars.
