As of right now, the Pats first round pick from the Niners would be the 5th overall.

That would be amazing. I would hope to trade down, and get 2 first rounders. That would be the biggest **** you to the league.

Actually, because SOS is taken into account, I think it's somewhere around 6 or 7 (the Raiders, for example, have played a worse schedule to date). But your basic point still stands. :rocker:

Won't stay there. Dilfer can't play every game unfortunately.

Edit: will say though they don't have to many games that you can pencil in Ws, if any.

Their prety bad with Alex Smith as well. They had the worse offense in the NFL with Alex Smith after week 2. Niners will lose either way.

i want a CB or LB :)

sorta like we wanted last year with first 2 picks

plenty of good players at both positions :)

CB is a question with Samuel's contract..Hobb's contract will be up within 2 years wont it?

LB would be great. either outside or inside :)

Wouldn't be something if we get a better pick than the Jets. mangigi would demand more sanctions agianst the Patriots

You are assuming that Mangini will still be around next spring.

Are there any teams who have two first rounders for the next draft? We can't get two first rounders the same year unless there is a team that has two to trade.

Cowboys have Cleveland's pick (and I believe their own) so hopefully Cleveland will finish 9/7.

Before the season I was hoping for 16-20 range but now this is great. Hope its at least in the 8-12 range so we could trade down and maybe pick up another 2nd if we wanted?
The Fish and Falcons will be in the top5 for sure and maybe the Rats too.
We need the Rams/Viking to win a few if they can and I think the Saints will win more.
Sure would be nice to have a top 10 pick!

There is still a lot of football to be played. That said, it could very well be a high round pick. I do hope that we get a better pick than the Jets, as we both are probably targeting similar LB's.

Why so much talk of the trade down for multiple picks?. First off, there is a chance that the first round pick next year is going to have to step up and be a defensive starter with the future of Seau, Bruschi, and Samuel in limbo.

I understand the money the top 10 picks are demanding now but you have to consider if BB/SP see someone they like, we are talking abou the next Richard Seymour to be a defensive staple for the next 6 years.

Good. Let's hope it maintains.

I want Dan Connor

Bingo. With a pick that high, Beoli might be able to actually draft a young ILB who can soon play for us.

Also, 3/5 of our nickel secondary are UFAs at the end of the season, and a 4th member is aging. We can surely use some help there.

Before people get too happy, remember that with 7 teams tied at 2-4 it would be just as accurate to say the "Patriots pick from Niners currently ELEVENTH".

The ultimate thing would be to win the Super Bowl and end up drafting just ahead of the Jets.

I'm hopeful that the Pats' AFC East rivals get a few wins. They all have to play each other, after all.

Even with Smith at QB they haven't thrown for over 200 yards in their last 18 games, he doesn't worry me at all.

We've had some good luck in the 6th round, maybe we should trade for 4 or 5 of those. :D
