Gay had an INT. I agree they could use improvement but it's not the end of the world and it has to be hard to keep up the intensity for the entire game when you are crushing a team.

They're not horrible, they're simply not playing up their level of talent. This is where having a defensive minded HC will pay off. The offense is on auto pilot at this point. Belichick will make sure the defense gets better. They'll be tackling deer on rte. 1 if need be. :bricks:

DeOssie said it best in the post game. This was a scrimmage. Tough to stay motivated on D through four quarters of scrimmage let alone when your offense spends the first half going off on the opponent AT WILL.

See, this is why you make no sense. You're evaluating the defense by what they're doing in progressively bigger and bigger blowouts. Let's see what they do in an actual close game before you start whining.

You don't "shutdown" the Colts offense anymore; you bend but don't break and let your offense win the game for you.

As for this thread; the D is very solid. You can choose to overreact about a MAtt Cassel INT returned for a TD and 2 garbage time TD's...I won't.

And what's happened when the team has absolutely had to make a stop? They've done it. Against the Chargers after the fumble on the kickoff. Against the Cowboys the ENTIRE SECOND HALF AFTER THEY TOOK THE LEAD. The first half of this game. Besides a few series the whole season, they have not been put under duress to make a big stop, but when they have they've pulled it off. Perspective is important when evaluating this defense.

Uh oh...you are in for it....don't put humble pie in most of these mouths out here......!!!! We got the win by a longshot......NEVER any question to that......BUT YOU LISTEN TO BILL B.....and he will not be happy....giving up 28 points to Chet Lemon and this deploreable team.....he won't be totally happy....
I'm not comfortable with Matt Cassel at backup QB......will be interesting in what BB thinks...
