This will certainly make those of us who can't get enough Kyle Brady happy. It is short, but rather descriptive in its praise.

"I was watching them on film and I'm telling you the guy who's getting no credit out there but is killing people is Kyle Brady," said one fellow tight end. "He's been killing people in the run. He's always been a good run blocker but I've never seen him maul defenders like this. They keep running behind him, too, like he's a tackle. I don't blame them."

And from Howie long, (who is presenting a piece on the pats this Sunday by the way.)

"It's rare you can find a tight end who is fully committed to blocking people," Long said. "This guy is the most dominant run-blocking tight end in the game right now. Nobody knows about you when you're a blocking tight end. But he's a full-grown man playing that position.

"The addition of Brady, who in essence is another tackle, and the way they use him is just like all the other Patriots — he totally understands what his role is."

Cooool eh?

Fauria,Francis and Coates were my favorite NE TEs of all time but Kyle is quickly joining that group in just 6 games.

Long's video essay comparing to the greatest in history

.... Howie long, (who is presenting a piece on the pats this Sunday by the way.)

Hall of Famer and Fox NFL Sunday analyst Howie Long spent much of this week dissecting the Patriots offense for
a piece to air on Sunday comparing New England's attack to the greatest in NFL history.

Re: Long's video essay comparing to the greatest in history

The only thing I regret is that we didn't have Kyle sooner!

So does BB.

From Ask Vic at Jaguars.com:

Vic: Kyle Brady is one of the all-time draft-day stories. Here’s why: Bill Belichick was the coach of the Cleveland Browns in 1995 and Belichick had his heart set on drafting Brady with the 10th pick and consensus of opinion was that no team ahead of the Browns was interested in Brady. Belichick just sat there and waited for his turn but, out of the blue, the Jets selected Brady with the ninth pick. Belichick was stunned. He was so shaken he couldn’t make a pick at 10. He ended up making a bad trade that dropped the Browns from 10 to 30 and then used that pick on Ohio State linebacker Craig Powell, who became a huge bust. Belichick went on to make five trades in that draft and came away with veritably nothing to help his team that year. After the season was over, Belichick was fired and the Browns moved to Baltimore and the first-round trade Belichick made with San Francisco in ’95 provided the Ravens with the pick they used to select Ray Lewis.

I remember Kyle from his PSU days. He used stop at a tailgate which was next to ours. Used to stop and have a beer and a hot dog after the games. He was 21 of course. Heckuva kid. When he came out of PSU. Belichick wanted to draft him. And, supposedly went nuts when the Jets snagged him before Cleveland was on the clock. Maybe, that's why he hates the Jets?? Anyway, Cleveland then traded down and SF took the next Jerry Rice..err...JJ Stokes. I remember arguing with some Grahambo fans a short couple of months ago that Kyle was a better blocker. Not, a better player. But, a better blocker. And, being told I was crazy.

Does anyone miss Daniel "stone hands" Graham? I don't think so.

personally i dont like to diss the former players. Graham made some big catches and key blocks in our SB yrs. We got kyle which is good but graham did his share of contribution too considering he was asked to blocked so much.

Yep. Guess who has caught the most Tom Brady TD passes...Daniel Graham.

The other guy who's quietly been having a good season to date is Nick Kaczur, and to think a lot of posters on different Pats boards were talking about trading him during the offseason...

Man, I did not know the draft history of Kyle Brady. Excellent info! Thanks a lot.

I miss Daniel Graham because he was a cool silent fighter. He did drop some balls, unfortunately. He has a great heart.

I am so psyched that the pats got Kyle. I loved that they called him a mauler too. He frick'n looks like one of those Irish type dudes that would just twist your head right off your body if you did something wrong to someone small. Ya know?

To me, he looks like a body guard, or a bruiser. I don't mean this in a bad way. Kinda like the big protector guy. Fitting actually.

And I have liked kaz since I heard the story about him working construction and playing hockey.

What a team!!!!

I don't think it's necessary to rip Graham. Brady is like a lineman, while graham was more like a fullback. I doubt their blocking assignments were similar.

Well, I don't think you're crazy, but neither are guys who think Graham is the better block. Both are excellent blockers, cloe enough in ability that it's a toss up as to who was better. I think Graham may be better at pass blocking and Kyle at run blocking, but that is just a sense. I have no data to back it up.

His persona off the field is quite different - - to his credit. Check out the 10/15 edition of Patriots Today on the Patriots.com website

Not sure I understand your post, but he turns out to be a very thoughtful and soft-spoken history buff.
