Re: Wilfork fined

I said it about the the Brady fine, and i'll say it about this. The league is going to nitpick everything the patriots do. the number of fines the pats collect this year will rival whoever has the record amount of fines.

This stuff goes on around the pile in every game. I can't believe he got fined for this.

Re: Wilfork fined

As said already, patchick is talking about the blatant late hit on K. Bradys' TD catch by R. Williams.
Never mind...I agree that one was fined..another got away with it..Hmmmm I wonder why??

Re: Wilfork fined

They can fine us and call throw BS flags all they want, this isnt going to stop the Patriots machine from rolling on.

Re: Wilfork fined

Watch the film in Mix's post above.

After Wilfork's hit, Sam Hurd (#17) throws a little shot at Harrison's head. Of course Rodney doesn't go flying the way Witten does (probably because Hurd doesn't weigh 1000 lbs like Wilfork) but still looks like a late shot to the head to me.

Even if Wilfork's shot was much harder, the fine was for a late hit: meaning after the play was over. But again, looking at the tape, it appears that not only is Hurd still engaging Harrison, but there are two players above the pile (you can only see their legs) who appear to be still engaging each other after Wilfork's hit.

That's four other players besides Wilfork, who obviously don't think the play is "over".

While I agree that these fines are ridiculous, they should at least be consistant across the board. Anyone wanna guess how much any of these other guys were fined!

Re: Wilfork fined

You guys all being homers on this one,,

Wilfork took multiple steps to get to Witten and give him a good forearm to the back. The view in the game was from a different angle (than the video clip) and the only reason he did not get flagged was that there was another penalty on that play IIRC.

I think there is a good chance this woulda been a fine last year.

So if DT's Henderson or Stroud from Jacksonville did the same thing to Watson, you'll all say part of the game??

The Buffalo fine should be canceled, but this one counts.

Oh, it's usually the second punch that gets caught, wonder what Witten was doing?? Or was this part of their "Lets nail him at the LOS plan"??

The guy is standing there with his back to Wilfork watching after the play is over and he gives him a shot in back and you wonder why he got fined when he has priors?

It's not surprising at all. It's clearly unecessary contact.

Re: Wilfork fined

I don't mind our players being fined when they deserve it.

The question is why don't the other players that play us get fined?

But the play wasn't over, the refs never blew the whistle :D

Re: Wilfork fined

I have a problem with the hit on Losman, not that it hurt the Bills' chances any. To me iIt did not look like *only* a trip and fall. It appeared to be a trip, followed by an intentional hit that could easily have been avoided.

But I was not out there getting tripped going full speed. So I don't claim to know, but I'm just saying what it looked like from my TV angle.

Of course, I also had a gorgeous blonde who was drunk and disorderly sitting on my lap at the moment. That did seem to change my angle too.

You don't realize how hard it is - I mean to get these angles right.

Re: Wilfork fined

oww, yup, fine the pats alrit...i though there should have been a flag, there wasnt, so now there is a FINE? i mean, if there was a flag i would not mind the fine...but if there is no flag, DO NOT fine...simple as that...

also yea, it seems goodell got a tape of only wut the pats did wrong...roy diving for bradys and moss knees and his late hit on kyle are all A OK with him

wut a b**ch this commish is turning out to be, i hope after the pats show him up this season, they get rid of his ass

Re: Wilfork fined

Did anyone notice what happened before the shove?? usually when there is a shove like that there is an incident BEFORE...so it's like the shove is caught..and whatever was done to Wilfork before is ignored. Just curious as this always happens.

I have a solution for this.

Don't shove anyone after the play is over. You know Barney Fife is running the league and shoving is stupid so don't do it.

Give him a dirty look then annihilate him the next chance within the context of a play.

Any thoughts on Roy Williams and some of his hits?? I guess...one doesn't count at all....or is Goodell just playing favorites...

I think it's just a setup for the penaltyfest they will be calling against us at the Colts game. This way they can say, 'hey, the Pats have been doing this stuff all season'. Of course there will be no holding calls on the Colts.
