Another BB bashing article

Not only does it bash BB, but it makes Dungy look like a saint again. I know "Workhorse" and "He Ban Me" are going to defend Dungy to the grave, but the man doesn't walk on water. He has flaws just like everyone else. Living here, I know he does a lot of great things but come on, nobody's perfect and that's what it seems the media wants us to think about Dungy. I respect Coach Dungy and I respect that he has so much faith, but honestly I'm kind of sick of hearing about it. Just my opinion.

There is no fact in that article whatsoever.

Could be the silliest article this year.

These small town newspaper guys will do anything to make a name. As far as I can tell this is some sort of weekly shopper for the suburbs of Trenton.

Dungy a genius? Sorry, I've lived in Tampa Bay for seven years.

"OK Mr. Einstein, you've held the opposition to 7 points for 59 minutes, what do you need to win since the score's 7-3".

"Another field goal? " "No, try again."

The person that wrote this is not a genius. Nor do they know ANYTHING about professional sports and I would go further and say big-time college sports.

A Head coach like BB who really coordinates all football activities, is no different than officer at any other billion dollar company. Which the Patriots are.

Their business may include playing a kids game. But the level that it's played at does require a person with well above average intelligence to coach and manage it.

This guy is another NY/NJ columnist. Angry at mangini for sucking and equally angry at Belichick for not sucking.

There is only one thing these media guys hate about BB is because he doesn't give them the access they so crave, and doesn't tip-toe around them like alot of coaches.

What is up with the lemon-water ball washing spa treatment that Dungy gets from everybody? The man's taken a team that is arguably the best offensive unit in the history of the NFL and consistently lost in the playoffs. He had one good year. What about losing in Foxboro twice, once with a team that hadn't yet punted in the playoffs and again with the most statistically prolific QB season in history. And then losing to the #6 seed at home after going 13-0??? Take away Manning and Brady and I guarantee you that Belichick would be doing more with the Pats than Dungy would with the Colts.

Yeah, that's pretty lame. There's actually a good article that could be written about how often the word "genius" is thrown around, but this ain't it.

So, the BB tree INCLUDES Mangini, or it doesn't:confused:

I don't think Dungy comes off as HTT, but I understand that references to a higher power can get old and irritating. I could do without it myself.

Ian O'cconor is a hack. These writers are unbelievable. I can't believe they get paid for this. That article didn't require any research or original thought.

Bill Belichick, now there's a real genius. He once helped the Giants take a Super Bowl from the high-flying Bills by ordering his defense to let Thurman Thomas rush for at least 100 yards.
The fact that he doesn't understand that shows the writer is too incompetent to commenton it.

I just don't know why Dungy's faith has to be mentioned in everything I read about him. Isn't there a Separation of church and football rule?

I think Mangini left "the tree" before he was ready. Actually, I think I would like to take a p*ss on his head, but I thought the first sentence was nicer.

John Wooden, dignity and grace, eh?

Great coach, yeah, but one of the all time biggest cheaters.

That writer is an idiot - but if you click on the poll next to the article you will see that 44% of the people who took the poll think BB was most deserving of the "genius" tag. Second place? Shanahan, with 5%. So nobody is buying what the writer is selling.

First off. Who is Ian O'Connor and what does he know about coaching football games? He has no facts to support his argument other than bad seasons. If that and a good QB is what defines a coach then I'll be darned. This is Fox, guys.

Yeah, I was going to mention that. The fact that you can be so far off when writing an article is actually amazing. During spygate, almost every writer got the facts wrong, but managed to get people to believe it. This article gets NO ONE to believe what the author is saying, and the poll backs that up.

Since no one else is saying it I will.......At least no one can say BB is/was a bad father right?

It's Fox News. Not to get political, but if you can turn a canidate's 3 purple hearts and service in the Vietnam War into a negative aspect, you can do anything!
