Prior to 2007 Brady's longest streak of +100 QB rating games was three, coming once in 2002 and once in 2003. Brady's streak is now six. In the first six games of 2007 he has doubled his longest +100 streak.

The most times he's been over 100 in a season is eight (oops), taking place in 2004. Through six games he needs only two (oops) more +100 games out of the remaining ten in order to match that total.

Brady's start has gotten some hype due to his 'record start', but I just wanted to post this to point out how dominant Brady's play is even by Brady's own standards.

The historical reference, I feel, puts his start into a stunning contrast and my appreciation for his play so far this season cannot be overstated.

He's simply playing out of his mind.

The "WR Argument" of the Brady vs Manning debate has taken an interesting turn this season.

I actually count 8 in 2004, but nonetheless, I'm buying what you're selling :rocker:

Very nice research. What stands out to me is that (disregarding any other variables) is that the majority or such performances seem to appear in the second half of the season. Bodes well. Improves as season progresses? Handles late season problems (weather, injuries, etc) better than opposing Ds?

Also: Thus far in 2007, the only game that is "pedestrian" excellent is vs. Romeo.

Thanks, my math sucks anyway.. but the fact that I was at work minimizing and maximizing to hide my research probably didn't help any.

lol

The Brady versus Horsemann thing is way overplayed anyway.

Brady did more with less and he does more with the same and he would do more with more.

He also scores the hotter chicks by a mile. ;)

He even advertises much higher quality and status products for much more money per advertisement.

People in the media continually act surprised when Brady and the Pats do well, and somehow each new season they have forgotten that he did well last year and the year before that. It is like selective amnesia with Brady.

On the other hand, Manning chokes his way thru 90% of his career and arguably has one good half in a big game against a weakened defense, and he has made it on the big stage. All those chokes never really happened.

Manning has had to up his game just to try and get anywhere close to Brady's legacy as a winner.

I'm curious to see if Brady can extend his streak this week against a team that historically has given him the most trouble.

Regardless of the outcome of Week 7, the first six weeks have been ones to remember.

I think it's hard not to feel something really special happening this season. And I think if we lay it on the Dolphins we'll know for sure just how special it is. This is our trouble team. Remember that second pass when Brady was sitting on the ground and threw that pick? LOL I doubt seriously the Brady we're currently seeing would feel the need to even try that.

I'm thinking that Brady has another 3+ TD game with 100+ passer rating. These are not the same Dolphins team that used to give Brady fits.
And this is not the same Patriots team of years past... they're BETTER.

See ... he did have a down day against Cleveland.

I looked at the DAL-MIA-WAS-IND block of games as a huge test and probable truth revealer. Well, one down with flying colors.. We'll see about the next three.

again, it seems that Brady has his best games later in the season. Yes? No?

Sure, because our team is so different every year that Brady is usually just getting to know his players by mid-season.

There were a lot of big plays in the Dallas game that didn't quite work with Moss. Those plays might work with a little more game practice.

These guys really barely know each other after 6 games. Stallworth is finally showing up in a big way, Gaffney is almost an afterthought, but made a huge play in the Dallas game.

No reason we will be worse later this year (except for injuries).

Plenty of reasons we might be better. :rocker:
