What's happening down in Jetsland?

If it's any consolation, SundayJack, you are not exactly a typical Jets fan. Your posts are way more intelligent.

Mangini is very good a copying materials from what I hear. BB was very impressed with young Mangini. Maybe he can get a job at Kinkos.:D

He also served coffee, didn't he? Maybe he can open up a Starbucks.

Remember also that Mangini is saddled with Tannenbaum, who ran the team into the ground before Mangini got there, then managed to convince the owner it was Herm's fault. Mangini with full control wouldn't do any better, he doesn't have the experience, but somene half decent in the front office would help him a lot.

I would have sworn that Mangini brought Tannenbaum in with him.

Edit: Yes, I was right. Tannenbaum replaced Bradway three weeks after Mangini came aboard.

The New York Times notwithstanding (as ever), that was a weird time of transition, where everyone in Jetsland knew Bradway was on his way out. Mangini's interview was even rumored to have taken place at Tannebaum's parent's house in Needham(?) the night he got home from Denver. It was roundly assumed, by that point, that Tannenbaum was taking over and the Mangini hiring was, as much as anything, confirmation.

I loved this one, from a guy at UGA, talking about Manjudas making commericals.............

"He actually has been filming 3 hour commercials for Jameson Irish Whiskey. Every Sunday I have to buy many many shots of them while watching him coach himself into early retirement."

Nah, it's not all bad. Like this past Sunday, after watching my Jets wrap their mouths around the tailpipe, at least I could sink back into my sofa and watch my dear Red So. . . . .

uhhh. . . . . yeah. . .

I agree.... Sunday Jack knows his sh&t....and his sarcasm is always entertaining.

We have cookies......and another banner on the horizon. You have green uniforms and a fraud for a coach.

Cheer up. Your coach is a ratfink fraud and your QB has a noodle arm and is barely holding off Clemens. BUT, you are on the cusp of dramatic change in Jetland. Soon enough ManJudas will be fired, you'll have a new QB, and maybe some hope of competing in some football games. But if you're a true blue fan, you will stick through this embarassing season and wait for brighter days.

Longtime Pats fans such as myself and others on this board can easily recall the days of having terrible coaches like Rod Rust and 'QB controversies' between terrible guys like Hugh Millen and Tommy Hodson. Wow those were dark days. But look at us now! Our team has won 3 of the last 6 superbowls and is likely to win Superbowl #4.

What I'm trying to say is that there will be down cycles and up cycles for any sports team. Just stick with it. A fan who has never tasted bitterness cannot appreciate what is truly sweet. And our 2007 Pats are fricking sweet! :) :rocker:

Right. For years, we were all trying to log into our toaster ovens and microwaves, so's we could come by here and wade in the pools of football wisdom.

Heh. . . The noteybook thingy that says "Dell" - so THAT was it. Go fig'r.

I feel so stoopid now.

Well, lets just say that I've never laughed so hard as when I read that "Mangenius" nickname. Its like getting the highest test grade in the class until you realize that everyone else in the class is ******ed. He's a fraud.

I don't know how to break it to you VJC...and to Jack, who seems like a hell of guy, but the Jets are in a golden age (for them) RIGHT NOW. IIRC the Jets have been to the playoffs 4 times in the last 6 years, and while they have nothing more than a few one and dones to show for it, IT STILL marks the greatest stretch of playoff appearances for any Jets era.

Granted its all relative, but it is ironic that while the Pats are currently enjoying THEIR golden age these past 6 years....so have the Jets.
