I was watching Sportscenter..and they play a clip of TO mouthing off after the game, and he says something to the effect of: "They, (NE) beat us, but they're certainly not a better team". I'm thinking to myself..WTF are you basing that on TO? Did I miss something? It takes some real balls to sit there after getting clobbered by the Pats, BY 3 TOUCHDOWNS to proclaim that they were not a better team. Whadda jerk!

He said they weren't the best team in the NFL, but yes, Whadda jerk!.

That is such BS! Compare that to what Randy Moss said before the game about Peyton having his reciever. That was such a positive message

"THE PATS ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE, AND WE LET'EM OFF THE HOOK!"-those were my thoughts exactly after the game.;)

Some athletes in all sports say dumb things some times. This is just another one.

In context, the quote wasn't that bad. He thinks his team is the best. Big deal. Nobody objective agrees, but I don't thinkTO can or should be objective. He thinks we got lucky or his team didn't play to its potential? Fine. That's probably what I would want to believe too if my job was to what he does. Objective people know different. The Cowboys don't pay TO to be objective. Here's the whole question and quote:

Is there any consolation loosing to possibly the best team in the league?
"No, there a good team. I wouldn't say they're the best. They beat us today, I tip my hat off to them. We know we had some opportunities and we let them slip away. Other than that we just got to go back and regroup. No confidence loss in the locker room and I heard that among a bunch of the guys after the game. We will be ready. We're going to be focuses on Minnesota on this week, get ready for that game and go from there."

We've been hearing the "the better team didn't win" thing since the first Super Bowl win. Sports has turned into a world of not giving the other team credit, whining, making excuses, pointing to yourself and strutting when you score etc. It's sad really. I forget who it was, but it may have been some Steeler players ripping the Pats as essentially not as good as them. The Pats ran off 21 wins in a row. The Pats aren't better than anybody, but nobody can beat them. Sorry, it's the way of the sports world now. Unfortunate.

That is except BB, who always credits the other team for beating us.

The sad part is the pats whooped the cowboys minus Seymour, Morris, Watson and Maroney.

Hahahahah!!! No one brings this up though:rolleyes:

I agree, in context there isn't that much wrong with the quote. Its not the best worded quote, but its not nearly as bad as some of the superbowl loser (esp the Rams/Warner) quotes were.
He didn't say the Pats are the best, but he didn't say they're not the best either. Obviously he believes the Cowboys are the best.
If he said "I believe the Cowboys are the third best team" that would be a much worse quote, even if its true.
If we lose to the dolphins this week, I'll still believe the Pats are the best team in the league.
A player should believe every sunday, they're going to win the game. He said the Pats played better, and tipped his hat. What more do you want?

Count me among those who felt that he wasn't trying to put his down. He did say that we were a better team but not the best and I have no problem with it.

Anyway, this is an old quote. Why linger on the previous Sunday's game once it is Wednesday?

I am starting to get worried about Miami and hope our injury situation does not worsen.

It was Kordell Stewart, Hines Ward, and their goofball kicker at the time Kris Brown (a kicker, of all people, talking crap) after the 2001 AFCCG.
