Damn - pretty pathetic time to be a Jets fan... look around the threads...

Fans aren't too pleased that ManJudas apparently took time out of his coaching duties to film some Razr II commercials...

Others are calling on Woody Johnson (*giggle* Woody... Johnson) to bring back the Tuna - either to tutor Manjudas or replace him outright

Let's see - there's pretty much apathy that the Eagles only touchdown shouldn't have counted, as pretty much all the fans know it wouldn't have mattered anyway

Fans are now thinking that ManJudas is in denial about Pennington and comparing him to Herm Edwards

One of his own players called him out regarding his playcalling

Can things get any worse? Yes they can - especially if someone picks up on the leaked report that Mangini was caught filming plays being called last season.

Keep digging Peter King - there is a story - just not the one you want.

I remember you guys saying how Mangini was stripped of his playcalling duties as DC-with this being the case, HOW was he even considered HC material to begin with?

To me-I'd rather have Norv Turner than him.

At this point in their careers, yes. If Mangini can last as long in the league as Norv, i believe he'll be the better coach. Right now he's way over his head and is starting to lose the team. I think he really messed up with Kendall.

Remember also that Mangini is saddled with Tannenbaum, who ran the team into the ground before Mangini got there, then managed to convince the owner it was Herm's fault. Mangini with full control wouldn't do any better, he doesn't have the experience, but somene half decent in the front office would help him a lot.

Not playing a scheme in which your players don't fit might help a little, too.

King doesn't need to dig; Mangini's doing it for him.
Eric will drive the Jests so far into the Meadowlands turf that they'll be looking up at Hoffa.

I loved the economics article that the Jet's fan dropped in there about Belichick.

The ship is sinking...

Tannenbaum wasn't the GM before Eric arrived. That was Bradway. And Herm was at fault, there was just more fault than enough to go around all the way to ownership. It's been a lousy organization practically forever. BB tried to warn him...

Tannenbaum was just Bradway's opportunistic assistant whose specialty was cap and contracts, and planting the seed for his coaching genius bud. Once Eric was landed with much hoopla, it was like a backdoor bloodless coup for Mangini and Tannenbaum to morph into Tangini - made easy by Johnson's infatuation with all things Belioli.

It's pretty obvious what's happening; their team is sucking and it's killing off their already limited team spirit. They're a defeated fanbase and I can't blame them.

Mangini is very good a copying materials from what I hear. BB was very impressed with young Mangini. Maybe he can get a job at Kinkos.:D

This all is ironic, in that the Jets fans hate Eric the Rat as much as we Pats fans. :)

No, it happened much differently, but that hardly matters.

Tannenbaum and Mangini came in almost as a tandem. They've been friends since their days in Cleveland with Belichick, and Mangini was the first and, I believe, only outside guy interviewed.

As I've said on both my own Jets board and this one, Mangini's body language of late leaves me with the impression that he has maturity issues, and I have to think that comes out in meetings, practices and, particularly, when the team most needs a strong leader in tough times like this. And so, we see things like Chris Baker openly questioning the play calling in the Monday news (and he was right, by-the-by). Things are unraveling quickly for the guy, and he's got to find a way to grow up as a head coach - quickly. There are some clear holes in personnel, but there's enough there to win some games in this league. At this point, though, it's less about the talent on the team, and more about the effectiveness of leadership. The pack doesn't follow a wounded dog.

In hindsight, I think its obvious that Mangini screwed up. He should've stuck around last year, and probably this year, learned some more from BB, then he could've gotten his choice of coaching jobs instead of just the Jets offer. Instead he jumped on the first offer, and the Jets have been in disarray for a few years now.

Fellers,

Slightly O/T, but I have to say this:

I actualy liked those old TITANS throwback uniforms the JETS were wearing last weekend. I really don't like the current style they wear. They look more like a college team than a pro team. But that's just my personal biases I guess.

That okay because they have been playing more like one also......

I agree with you (and no apology necessary for me: I LOVE threads that meander).

"'Mangenius' never really existed. It is a mythical creature like 'Sasquatch'" - Great quote from that Jets thread. Nice to see even slow witted Jet fans are finally figuring out that Mangini is a fraud.

Who cares? I live in the enemy territory and I am least bit bothered about their performance, or lack of it, and the immature and arrogant kids that seem to define most of its fans.

Only time I am going to be interested is when they head to Foxboro. Which, is not happening until after a few weeks.

Right. For years, we were all trying to log into our toaster ovens and microwaves, so's we could come by here and wade in the pools of football wisdom.

Heh. . . The noteybook thingy that says "Dell" - so THAT was it. Go fig'r.

I feel so stoopid now.
