Since we haven't heard anything about it being too serious at this point should we just assume it's day to day.
Sunday somebody posted on here that it looked like a collarbone but if that was the case wouldn't we have heard about that by now?

I would think, especially since they are playing the Dolphins. It's not like they need the silence to help. BTW, if anyone has any insight, dish it out. I have Morris on one of my fantasy team and need to know if he is going to be a good play this week.

It would not surprise me one bit to see Morris listed as questionable through the weekend (just to affect Miami's preparation), and then placed on IR. The injury looked serious.

Damn, back to the waiver again.

Ditto.

The replay showed a pile of people coming down on top of Sammy. One possibility would be a cracked rib/ribs, which is not ALL that serious. But, after the game, someone reported seeing Sammy with his arm in a sling. That sounds like the collarbone to me. I don't know about recovery schedules but, if that's the case, he won't be playing again soon. :(

MJBaker, the answer to your question is "no." We wouldn't have heard about it. We don't know about Watson's injury either. We don't know when Seymour is coming back, likewise Maroney. That's the way the Patriots work. No information, not even any strong rumors. BB sees no reason to give information to the opposition. It's hard on us, but it's a very small price to pay.

Although if it were serious...one might have heard something more...and IR now vs on Sat..when any replacement is not helpful.....maybe I am more optimistic..but I think he'll be back in a few weeks...Although with Patriot injuries who knows... No word on Watson..or AD as well...

Right: we do not know. Speculation here is rampant but does no good.
Whatever we learn will be from BB via the injury report and announcements and he is a tad guarded there. If you want unsubstantiated rumor and speculation, there is always the Herald and the Globe.

I will be shocked if he goes onto IR.

I'm guessing more will be know after the Wednesday practices session. That's when stuff starts to come out in Indy. Is the same true with the Pats?

Maroney has been a gametime decision for three weeks so don't count on Wednesday helping you much :D

I'm not a doctor but I did date a girl once who was going to med school.

If it is a chest injury such as a torn muscle, a sling would be the right thing to do as it stablizes the arm. I did tear a muscle in my upper back/shoulder blade area and the doctor stapped my arm to my body and put in a sling. I had very littel pain after that and in a couple of days was able to move my arm around withut any pain.

If that is the case, I have no idea how long it will take for a torn chest muscle to be football ready.

Someone should be able to report whether Morris/Maroney/Watson participate in practice or not. That would be at least a solid hint.

I doubt Belichick would keep a player out of practice all week just to mess with an opponent's mind. Especially Maroney, who's been out for a few weeks and is sure to be rusty. That would be sacrificing game prep for a slight psychological advantage.

[Edit] Oh, and from the replay, Watson almost surely had some sort of injury to his left leg. That could be a strained/torn muscle, ligament, or something like that. But I doubt it was a break, since he did walk off the field and into the locker room.

Did you stay at a Holiday Inn Express? :D

I didnt think it looked that serious

My worst fear is that the injury is a broken collarbone.

Maybe, but I remember in trining camp when Seymour didn't practice, we had no clue why, and we all assumed because no word came out, that he was just starting slow as he did last year. NO ONE at the start of training camp predicted he would not practice at all in camp and would be PUPped. So I would not take the lack of word as lack of seriousness.

It may or may not be. Morris could be on IR this afternoon or start vs the Dolphins.

I have him on my team, too.
I'm benching him next week unless, of course,
I hear some bright news on his health. NTFL.
